and we still can't think of a name for her Blush She's a big fluffball (has sable legs but is mainly black) and so gorgeous but we just can't think of anything. I was just wondering if anyone could help out with any ideas? Thanks Blush

Oh I don't know, but I bet she's gorgeous. Lucky you.

bumpybecky · 02/02/2011 12:52

would need to see a picture! :)

Do you want a human name or a not human name? I think one or two syllable names work well, nothing too long. You might find that your dog refuses to acknowledge the name you prefer though, I know it took a few names before we made a definite decision.

FWIW our beautiful black lab x collie was called Treacle :)

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 02/02/2011 12:54

pic :)

SwearOft · 02/02/2011 13:00

Thanks for replying, I'll go get a pic as soon as, just trying to juggle lunchtime at the minute Smile

OMG. She's lovely.

She looks like a Polly to me Smile

dickcheeseandthecrackers · 02/02/2011 13:37

She is so CUTE! Oh wow.

SwearOft · 02/02/2011 14:23

Sorry bumpybecky, we're not sure on whether to go for human or non...I look at her and just think giant furball! Treacle is a lovely nameSmile

She's so sweet and quiet (at the moment!).

Not sure if she looks like a Polly, will add it to my 'list' though then I'll try calling her everything on it and see if it fits lol

bumpybecky · 02/02/2011 14:44

goodness me she's cute! I hadn't expected such a adorable fluffy thing Grin

how old is she?

DrNortherner · 02/02/2011 14:47

She looks like a Tasha to me.

SwearOft · 02/02/2011 15:35

Thanks DrNortherner, will add that one too Smile

She's 9 weeks old and very fluffy, although we gave her another bath this morning so that probably made her extra fluffy today!

pawsnclaws · 02/02/2011 16:36

She looks a lot like my friend's GSD called Tiff (was originally Tiffany but Tiff suits her better).

CalamityKate · 02/02/2011 16:42

I just melted into a puddle of gooey puppy broodiness Blush

She is stunning.

I like 2 syllable names, ending in either an "i" or "a" sound, with a "t" or an "s" them.

They are just that bit more ear-catching, I think.

I like Asti. As a name I mean - although I like the drink too Grin

bumpybecky · 02/02/2011 17:13

[pops back in for another peek at the cute puppy!]

an Asti would be a paler dog though surely?

I like Tasha too :)

jonicomelately · 02/02/2011 18:04

I knew a 'Treacle' who was lovely but I'm not sure it suits your pup. I think a nice soft name would be best. She seems like such a sweetheart.

If not 'Polly' what about:

Dolly
Jessie
Poppy
Skye
Mabel
Maude

SecretSquirrel193 · 02/02/2011 18:08

Taya

Itsthawooluff · 02/02/2011 18:09

Our GSD is Tilly (AKA what the hell has that bloody dog dragged in now)_

Itsthawooluff · 02/02/2011 18:11

Freya
Cally
Lola
Hatty

Milliways · 02/02/2011 18:16

Nala? (From Lion King)

DH said "Mine" as he wants her (ours is 11 now) :)

Blacksand · 02/02/2011 18:21

I have a GSD / Collie x called Maud. But i think yours is too elegant for that name. She is GORGEOUS!

Beryl
Bridget
Persephone
Ava
Bretton

Blacksand · 02/02/2011 18:22

Not that my Maud isn't gorgeous Blush - but in a scruffy kind of way...

SwearOft · 02/02/2011 18:50

Well, she's fast asleep in the middle of the room while we've been throwing names at her and...not a twitch Grin

She also doesn't seem to like Flor, Betsy, Dottie or Elsie...can't think why Hmm

Milliways your DH will have to fight my 3.5 year old DS Wink

OP posts:
SwearOft · 02/02/2011 19:09

I, of course, meant that she doesn't really look like an Elsie or Dottie. Not that there's anything wrong with those names!

I really like Flor or Dolly now but my DH just made a Confused face at me

OP posts:
chickchickchicken · 02/02/2011 19:11

i think she looks like a Polly. nothing to do with my cute dog also called Polly Grin

chickchickchicken · 02/02/2011 19:12

also like Freya
