Perhaps is best to avoid this programme.

Children loved it but adults hated it.

Thought we'd give it a try as it was new but it was definitely not for me and I watch a lot of Cbeebies.

Ditto.
My 4 year old adores it. I can't bear it.

bleedingheart · 22/06/2010 16:39

Terrible. The sock puppet immediately annoyed me. I was distracted by her resemblance to a frumpy Miranda from SATC.

MickyBabe · 23/06/2010 09:03

Are you kidding? The show is amazing and the kids a so captivated by it. Not like anything else on the telly... and that's a good thing! I love it and my 4 year old boy has a crush on her Very cute. Give us more!

Macdog · 24/06/2010 17:03

Saw it for first time today - made me want to poke my eyeballs out.

What awful tosh

GeeWhizz · 24/06/2010 19:01

As long as I am not in the room they can continue to watch it.

I wanted to poke Penelope's eyeballs out!!

tefal · 25/06/2010 05:57

oooh no, I can't stand this show. I thought we only got it here in Australia. We switch over.

MarthaQuest · 25/06/2010 12:08

What's with the crap 'ventriloquism'?
And why the weird (1930s?) props/clothes etc

Why is she dancing on a gramophone type thing?

why is she so annoying?

Watching this has quite upset me actuALLY

MickyBabe · 30/06/2010 04:30

Wow, MarthaQuest, you really don't get it do you?

The show is beautifully designed and educational and is still entertaining at the same time. The kids adore it and her.

Just because it is not like every other annoying show.

It's the only thing the kids REALLY want to watch!

Confuzled · 30/06/2010 08:36

Polite, Mickybabe.

Another eyeball-poker here. I think it's shite. I leave the room, and even Katie's awful singing on I Can Cook hasn't achieved that. Hate it. I don't think it is that different from a lot else on TV either - Nina And The Neurons is just as educational, and a great deal less grating to watch.

MickyBabe · 06/07/2010 02:01

I like Nina too! I don't think they are the same kind of show. This is genuinely funny. We made hand puppets based on the ones in the show and the kids have hours of non-tv fun. It is hilarious to watch their imagination take off. That is good enough for me!

SantaLucia · 06/07/2010 10:16

Its brilliant. Original, colourful, entertaining, no cartoons, ideas that the kids can play out at home - i.e. sock puppets, shadow shapes etc.

And kids don't think that the ventriloquism is crap - they think its a real little creature on her hand. You need to have the open mind and limitless imagination of a child to appreciate this.

I love her outfit - its like an elf, crossed with a dancing girl but with boxing boots (which are very similar to the ones Katy Perry is always wearing these days).

Love, love, love it!

Since watching it once my 2 year old DD has started putting her toys to her ear when they "speak" and having chats with them.

MarthaQuest · 06/07/2010 12:43

Beautifully designed ?

bloody hell, I've heard it all now.

Miggsie · 06/07/2010 12:44

It appeals to an age group...they will grow out of it. As adults they will think WTF?

em8568 · 30/07/2010 15:57

Oh Dear God this is by far THE WORST thing I have ever seen! Psychotic Penelope who looks like she is drugged up to the eyeballs, talking to a sock with know atempt to make it look 'realistic'. My two year old asked me to turn it off. There is nothing beautifully designed about this, Im surprised it ever made it to TV. There is nothing educational about it, infact I think its quite insulting to assume that children are that stupid. The kids asking Penelope the questions, they all look like they dont actually want to be there. It is unsucessfully trying to do what Nina and the Neurons does.

Raahh · 30/07/2010 16:39

It is terrible.

The overly effusive posts saying how great it is remind me of when we were bombarded by posts from the production company of Chuggington a couple of years back....

The only thing (marginally) worse than Penelope K is the fact the BBC have seen fit to give Sarah Jane her own bloody show!

funtimewincies · 02/08/2010 16:03

Ds1 (aged 3) likes it, but I just can't get past the Disney-inspired storm-trooper outfit!

Don't get me started on Sarah-Jane. That eye shadow and creepy fake smile .

UnquietDad · 02/08/2010 16:05

What? Top CBeebies totty Sarah-Jane Honeybunch has her own show....? Where, when, what?

This is what you get for being out of the CBeebies loop as your children get older!

funtimewincies · 02/08/2010 16:09

Something called 'Mighty Mites' Unquiet Dad.

Maybe I'm bitter but she's looking a bit rough around the edges in this one !

BunnyLebowski · 02/08/2010 16:13

I wouldn't get too excited UQD. In the advert she looks like she's just come off the all nighter at Spearmint Rhino's.

She looks like an old midget drag queen.

A bit like Sarah Harding...only shorter

Oh and in response to the OP I hate Penelope K as well. She's a twat.

UnquietDad · 02/08/2010 16:16

I shall content myself with he video of her getting the fairy wings tat.

Meglet · 02/08/2010 20:28

I think Mickybabe works for the production team.

Raahh · 02/08/2010 20:43

Meglet- i agree- her comments sound like a press release!

Can't bear this bloody programme - I switch it off before DS has a chance to discover it!
