Holy crap its been on for 2 minutes and it's a bit graphic!

OP posts:
teuch · 11/08/2005 13:29

I can't decide whether I am going to love or loathe...but I'll defo be watching!!

Lord of the Flies is one of my favourite books and this seems (so far) to be a pretty goo contemporary version...complete with transparent metaphors for society norms, prejudices, etc AND a 'beast' in the jungle. In the book it turns out to be a wild boar...don't think a wild boar could yank out said pilot and leave in a tree...

Someone mentioned Jurassic Park...is it going to turn out to be some secret experiment with massive beasts that have then killed all the scientists living there (16yrs ago?)...

I hope not...

teuch · 11/08/2005 13:30

re the transmissions...I assumed it was an automatic/recorded distress call, so we don't know if the french woman is even still alive (although I suspect she will be...)

yes deffo brill coddy

teuch · 11/08/2005 13:44

dunno about good but completely, utterly and totally absorbing!!

Gobbledigook · 11/08/2005 14:06

I was very disappointed by the first episode - thought it was complete crap. It got better in the 2nd one and I watched next weeks on E4 and that got better too.

Will definitely watch it but I'm still not sure on my verdict atm.

RTKangaMummy · 11/08/2005 14:48

I meant deffo brill in an escapism way rather than QUALILTY TV

IYSWIM

Nbg · 11/08/2005 14:50

I'm glad they're doing E4 repeats.

For as much as I've taken the p out of it I think I'm really going to enjoy it.

Your right RTKM it's good in an escapism way.

RTKangaMummy · 11/08/2005 14:58

THanks NBG

As long as you don't expect quality TV scripts etc then you will enjoy it IMHO anyway

dropinthe · 11/08/2005 20:13

And Jack is good eye candy!!

biglips · 11/08/2005 20:16

it was so FAB- esp the dishy doctor! i cant wait for the next series (overall in total there is 25 episodes)

dropinthe · 11/08/2005 20:17

26 ACTUALLY!!

biglips · 11/08/2005 20:18

really?!! as it said in the paper... oh well the more the merrier

fairydust · 11/08/2005 20:19

the last episode is aired on the night as a two hr special so it's easily mistaken for 25

dropinthe · 11/08/2005 20:20

No,I'm going on an earlier poster-I'm sure the paper is right!

fairydust · 11/08/2005 20:20

Twiglett · 11/08/2005 20:21

spacecadet · 11/08/2005 20:22

dropinthe · 11/08/2005 20:22

How did you watch then all-in the U s of A??

fairydust · 11/08/2005 20:23

no i'm in the uk - but the ones i watched are from the states

motherinferior · 11/08/2005 20:24

It was OK - I watched the first one, videoed the next as I was knackered - but it wasn't very, you know, sparky in the dialogue department, was it? Not like our dear departed Joss Whedon [sigh]...

dropinthe · 11/08/2005 20:24

Sky what??

WideWebWitch · 11/08/2005 20:27

Oh Moo, that stewardess drove me MAD until I worked out what I'd seen her in, took me about 10 minutes!

Enid · 11/08/2005 20:31
