i think Shelagh will find it hard actually. Im sure i have heard that people who do a lot of horse riding have such strong muscles that they find it vbery difficult.

expatinscotland · 16/03/2010 21:30

A good curry will clean you out.

BelleDameSansMerci · 16/03/2010 21:31

Tee hee at washable nappies... I give a week before they're on disposables!

Rindercella · 16/03/2010 21:31

Expat - I got to the hospital when I was 9cm...think DH thought I was an utter wimp until he was told that, so I know exactly how you were feeling!

McBitchy · 16/03/2010 21:31

Shelagh seems terrified

FrazzleRock · 16/03/2010 21:31

Penny must be a MNer

I love the trucker woman. She's hilarious!

BelleDameSansMerci · 16/03/2010 21:31

I suppose the scary music is making me think Shelagh will not have an easy time...

FrazzleRock · 16/03/2010 21:32

Shelagh obv

PommePoire · 16/03/2010 21:33

Gosh Shelagh's pretty quiet for someone who was refusing to get in the car. Maybe her contractions slowed down when they put her in the ambulance.

maxpower · 16/03/2010 21:34

mcbitchy I even packed some sheets of paper and bluetack as I was so horrified at being in a position where I could see what was going on in the mirror (there were mirrors fixed in all the labour rooms)

expatinscotland · 16/03/2010 21:34

Rinder, I'd had an epi and forceps delivery with DD1, so I had no idea I was that far along.

I was at home waiting for the community midwife to ring back.

When the ILs came to look after DD1 and MIL took one look at me and said, 'I think you all should go along to hospital now.'

If we'd have waited a few minutes longer, she'd have been born in the car. Or at home!

I couldn't believe it when the midwife said 'I'm just going to move this lip of cervix out the road and you go right ahead and push.'

I too have 'enjoyed' natures enema with both labours, must have done about six mega-poos in about four hours!

PictureThis · 16/03/2010 21:34

shelagh looked terrified.

nowwhatdoido · 16/03/2010 21:34

I'd been ill with flu prior to my last labour, and was constipated. I tried everything and it was the baby's head that finally unblocked me. Mortifying.

CrankyTwanky · 16/03/2010 21:34

I too have a natural enema in labour.Very in the pool!

Good point Mamazon. And about the music BDSM.

Fel1x · 16/03/2010 21:35

poor Shelagh, she looks terrified

DinahRod · 16/03/2010 21:35

Think mine and some other MN names are strangely apt re enemas.

Alambil · 16/03/2010 21:35

I feel for shelagh

FanjolinaJolie · 16/03/2010 21:36

I would deffo have accepted an enema if offered one.

Rindercella · 16/03/2010 21:36

Have heard that horse riding does toughen up the perineum which will obviously make childbirth more difficult.

maxpower · 16/03/2010 21:36

oh bless Ben
