Longtalljosie · 02/03/2010 21:35

EEWW!

I have to confess... the only reason I had a G&A only birth is that I was more scared by the epidural needle than pushing out a baby...

GuntherMcKilocodie · 02/03/2010 21:35

it's

that epidural looked horrible going in - having had one, it didn't feel as bad as it looked.

chegirlshadabloodynuff · 02/03/2010 21:35

I was thinking that. They all seem to have been on their backs on all of the programmes.

Just thinking about lying down whilst having a contraction makes my eyes water.

Megletwantsittobesummer · 02/03/2010 21:36

Eeeeew, epidural jab!!! Ouch. I had spinal blocks for my cs's but never seen it done before.

Oh Joy . She's shattered poor thing.

ShowOfHands · 02/03/2010 21:36

A whole hand?

When they tried to manually rotate dd, the surgeon (with very big hands) had both hands inside me trying to turn dd and shove her back up. Now that was joy.

DD (2.9) has just apologised for hurting me when she was born. She asked if it hurts like banging your leg.

GuntherMcKilocodie · 02/03/2010 21:36

Aah, Joy is being all nice now. Epidurals are a wonderful thing!

Raahh · 02/03/2010 21:37

Thank you !!

bless Jpy at thanking Fabio for being her birth partner...

I was still screaming at Dh- he put up with a lot

Eglu · 02/03/2010 21:37

DH completely freaked at the epi going in.

BelleDameSansMerci · 02/03/2010 21:37

Ah, Joy really worrying about Fabio now she's not in pain any more. Getting quite tearful about how selfless she is when not stressy or in pain. She'll be such a lovely mum.

Longtalljosie · 02/03/2010 21:37

I wonder whether that's the effect of the cameras - the women wanting to keep their nethers under wraps

spilttheteaagain · 02/03/2010 21:37

I misheard Joy, thought she said "it's a very revolting job" not "rewarding"!

Though I imagine it's both

30andLurking · 02/03/2010 21:37

wow, epidurals make a hell of difference... Joy is praising Fabio now!

RTKangaMummy · 02/03/2010 21:37

Epidural =

mehdismummy · 02/03/2010 21:37

Oh bless at your DD!

To be honest by the time I had my epi (on day three of labour) I would have had it through my eyeball.

JollyPirate · 02/03/2010 21:38

It's a lovely job. I really enjoyed my time as a midwife.

confuseddoiordonti · 02/03/2010 21:39

Ah, someone is now mentioning the back thing - I thought it was weird they were all on their backs too, have they not heard of gravity?

Megletwantsittobesummer · 02/03/2010 21:39

Is kelly going to be concious enough to give birth?!

mehdismummy · 02/03/2010 21:39
