I saw it last night and I do really enjoy it but it feels a bit more forced now, still very enjoyable though.
I love Nessa. Rob Brydon steals it every time though.

I think it's just as good. I was sort of expecting it to have peaked and be a bit crap, but it wasn't. Agree re Uncle Bryn - he's such a star.

nigelslaterfan · 04/12/2009 23:01

It is good isn't it? I loved Bryn standing in the window when Gavin was meeting his new work mates. The way they admired his sandwiches and wanted him to come in. brilliant.

No, not as good. Didn't think series 2 or the Christmas special was as good as series 1 either but still enjoyable. And I am with Smithy and Ness on the takeaway - bog off and eat your own !!

nancy75 · 04/12/2009 23:14

i have only just started watching this, what is the story with nessa (is that her name) is she a mad liar or what?

halfcut · 04/12/2009 23:16

I think its just as good ..Nessa and Bryn are wonderful ...Don't be a twat stace

OLittleTownOfGlasvegas · 04/12/2009 23:33

I loved every minute of it, especially Neil - the baby. Laugh everytime they say it!

pointydogg · 04/12/2009 23:48

I've always thought it pretty mediocre. And James C really gets on my goat.

yoyo · 05/12/2009 00:01

Can't help but read these posts in Stacey's accent - the first one works particularly well. Really enjoyed last night's episode - Bryn and Gwen are great characters but the next-door neighboour always makes me laugh out loud. I grew up in Wales and these characters could have been any number from my childhood with the exception of Ness. I would have loved to have known someone as naughty as her with all her conquests! Really don't like James Cordon or the chap who plays Gavin.

yama · 05/12/2009 00:07

Gavin's Mum and Dad are my favourites. I think it's quite poignant actually. The best comedy usually is.

InMyLittleHead · 05/12/2009 01:23

The first one wasn't as good, but the second one was ace, especially Smithy and Rudy singing 'American Boy' down the phone to Gavin, and the ordering of the curry.

tulpe · 05/12/2009 13:15

Oh My Christ! Love Gavin & Stacey.

Alison Steadman is fab in this show. Altho Gavin's dad character has been spoilt for me since he started playing Archie in EE .

Do think Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones are the funniest though

Lauriefairyonthetreeeatscake · 05/12/2009 13:23

I think its got better and better. Thursdays one had some really good observation stuff in it - that ordering a curry stuff with everyone wibbling their hands to indicate sharing was very funny. And goodness knows how long it took for James corden and his 'sister' to practise that rap song.

The 'welshies' independance bit had me laugh a lot.

pointydogg · 05/12/2009 13:25

laurie, is it you who has the voles?

Lauriefairyonthetreeeatscake · 05/12/2009 13:26

I am vole-less......I think

Maybe someone else?

biglips · 05/12/2009 13:28

i saw the Xmas one a few weeks ago and omg it was crap but i had to watch it to the end! dont ask me why??

pointydogg · 05/12/2009 13:34

ok. those slippers, you know

Meglet · 05/12/2009 13:48

Is it just me or is nessa going to be pregnant again?

WinkyGirl · 05/12/2009 20:14

Totally agree Meglet. First thing I thought when they were in bed together. Cracking

MarioandLuigi · 09/12/2009 14:10

I loved the mock-interview Uncle Bryn did, it was so funny

BettyTurnip · 09/12/2009 14:14

I find Stacey has gone from endearing to completely get-on-your-tits annoying.

skihorse · 11/12/2009 12:24

meg I very much agree, Ness I think will have another surprise pregnancy.

Now , what do we think of Stacey's bombshell last night? I'd laughed all the way through and in the last minute I went from jaw-dropped to cat's bum mouth. Anyone else?

Betty Yes, it is generally best to just fast-forward past Gavin & STacey themselves!

Flame · 11/12/2009 12:37

I'm still loving it, I like that it has more of the serious/heart warming stuff now.

"Neil... the baby" is never losing effect

Last night I just loved the way Gavin stopped being angry the instant he realised her upsetness. They are so lovely.

skihorse · 11/12/2009 12:40

Would a man really forgive her for such a devious act just because she turns on the waterworks?

I turned to my bf and said I am so happy that we will be able to tell our child "We wanted you so very much blah di blah" rather than "you were a surprise pssst, not to mummy!"

wintera · 11/12/2009 12:47

I am loving Gavin and Stacey at the moment. Loved the curry episode last week! Regarding Stacey herself, well I thought she started to get annoying last series to be honest! And with the bombshell last night, I didn't really feel sympathy for her. I think she has been very devious!

VirginPeachyMotherOfSpod · 11/12/2009 12:48

I astilllike itloads, though yesterday in town did a triple take (we do live in S E Wales) as someone walked past on her mobile with exactly Ness's voice- blimey, made me PMSL
