almostreal: John Travolta, George Clooney, Hugh Jackman...it happens!

Being frivolous here, but it's keeping my mind off some bad news I've just had about a relative who's very sick- thank goodness for daft speculation and Mumsnet!

ShowOfHands · 21/11/2009 21:49

BoF, manly punch on the shoulder for you. I'm genuinely sorry.

Powerful, rich men. Many, many FODs.

VengefulKitty · 21/11/2009 21:50

MmeLindt - can't use FOB as it is a term in the asian community for Fresh Off the Boat!

MmeLindt · 21/11/2009 21:50

Sorry to hear about your relative, BOF. Go cheer youself up on the Gay Gordons/Mass murderer thread. It has potential.

MmeLindt · 21/11/2009 21:51

LOL at FOB.

There is also the term that the Austrians/Swiss use for Germans. MOFs

Menschen Ohne Freunde

People without friends

Oh, how I laughed at that. DH was not amused.

BitOfFun · 21/11/2009 21:52

I like that MOF

I shall check that thread out...

muggglewump · 21/11/2009 22:23

Flipping hell, of course Simon is gay. It's so obvious.
That's why he gets on so well with his exes, to the point of giving them jobs.
You'd have to have a good reason to let Sinitta hang around. Good God the woman is annoying.
And surely no woman would do him with that hairdo?

Cashly Cole also. Apparently the wedding came very soon after details were about to be revealed, and the cheating, similar.

And just to remind you who the best were tonight.

Jedward

muggglewump · 22/11/2009 01:00

Ugh, and we've got Mariah tomorrow. She'll appear at around 10.30pm after one of her minions has spoken for her and sorted out her wedgie, and SuBo, who will just be weird.

Bring back the drugged up Robbie. All is forgiven

OP posts:
muggglewump · 22/11/2009 01:04

I hope he does go tonight.

OP posts:
Divatheshopaholic · 22/11/2009 16:54

MC will be the last to perform as she will be late

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/11/2009 18:04

mugglewump here's hoping
have never taken to him at all
he's almost cliff richard like
am expecting him and lloyd in the bottom two

labyrinthine · 22/11/2009 18:14

I hope Danyl goes too ~it was a bit daft to think he could better George Michael at "Careless Whisper" especially without any dancers etc

digitalgirl · 22/11/2009 18:33

Had to watch it this morning as was out last night.

From what I managed to see (missed Joe) they were all pretty rubbish, even Olly disappointed me. And Dsis thinks he's going to win.

Loved the twins again, who clearly had their vocals turned really low and the 'backing vocals' singing the melody mixed really loud.

Mariah Carey performed last week before the Sunday show. We had to get there earlier than usual so she could sing in front of an audience. She was helped on stage by two lackeys, one of whom did rearrange her slightly too tight dress. Then after she sang, she was helped off stage. Seems Madame MC cannot actually walk on her own, in case she falls over with the weight of her own diva-ness.

And she mimed.

Looking forward to seeing who's getting the boot tonight!

whomovedmychocolate · 22/11/2009 18:44

I only watched six minutes of it last night, but enough to see evidence of possible performance fixing. Did anyone else notice Danyl sing out of tune for a verse before ripping his in ear monitor off and singing the rest note perfect. And Olly singing off key all the way through and not removing his monitor? It's incredibly easy to slightly mistime the in ear monitoring or indeed to play an offkey version in someone's ear. One accidental slip of a sound engineer's finger could completely bugger a performance if you are relying on it.

The show has form for this - in auditions the ones who are good get reverb and processing added to their songs but the ones who are just average or crap have the levels flattened so the song sounds duller and less professionally polished.

So make the ones you want off sound crap, they get voted off, then you have the ones you want for whatever nefarious reason (not related to talent Jedward) in the final. And because everyone still votes regardless because it's good telly

braveandcrazy · 22/11/2009 19:07

Interesting theory whomoved and from all the press this week I can see Cowell stitching up Danyl like that, but I can't imagine him doing it to Olly as he is the fave to win and very popular. So he was just out of tune without the help of an offkey version?

Just want to add if by some miracle Danyl gets through this week please let him dance! It's unfair he doesn't get a chance when we have to put up with Olly prancing around every week.

labyrinthine · 22/11/2009 19:34

They didn't mention the "tuning issues" much last night at all ~they were all a bit out of tune apart from joe.

saggyhairyarse · 22/11/2009 19:48

I did notice that about Danyl and my conspiracy theory is similar, though I think they want Stacey to win as she will have a hit single but be no threat to Leona or Alexandra.

Bambinoloveseggbirds · 22/11/2009 19:49

Evening peeps, I have wine!

whomovedmychocolate · 22/11/2009 19:55

ilove · 22/11/2009 20:01
