I can't even imagine the logistics, even with 4 nannies so quite intrigued to watch this documentary.

Anyone else?

I already had preconceptions about her just through osmosis - not actively reading stuff. Hoping this programme will change those.
What's she going to do when they get on their feet!!!

I agree with Ewe - I think she's OK, was expecting to really dislike her but don't at all

poshsinglemum · 12/11/2009 21:32

I just worry about the older kids. They are fuming.

I think that it is stupid but omg she copes so well.

it's wierd!

JesusChristOtterStar · 12/11/2009 21:32

she seems a really good mum to me

Don't blame her for doing telly stuff if she is getting hounded by the paparazzi.

Feel a bit sorry for her, but do think she is a bit unhinged to want to have 7 on her own. DH is great and the thought of 2 scares the shit out of us.

argento · 12/11/2009 21:33

I agree - much more likeable than I expected. And she didn't aim for octuplets, her doctor has a lot to answer for!

dingdong3 · 12/11/2009 21:33

I feel so sorry for that oldest boy - he's just crying out for some attention.

SlackSally · 12/11/2009 21:33

I can't believe she's only JUST shouted.

I remember a self-indulgent Times article a few years back about some super-mom with triplets. Turned out she actually had two full time nannies as well (can't remember for how long). She still said it was a madhouse.

Considering how hard a lot of women with 1-3 children find it to get any time to themselves, this woman must have literally not a second for herself.

MollieO · 12/11/2009 21:33

I'm wondering who Jon and Kate are too!

I wonder if people would be so critical if she had a partner.

MamaGoblin · 12/11/2009 21:34

She's obviously got some sort of problems about wanting an enormous family - 7 is huge if she was even aiming at that. But she's managing really well, considering. I can't even imagine what it'll be like when all those babies start walking...

Lilyloo · 12/11/2009 21:34

I think she is coming across well tbh
She is doing the best she can which she freely admits.
Her eldest is struggling but she is trying to discipline him.
Fair play to her being on tv with them all.

ShinyAndNew · 12/11/2009 21:35

A sky channel do a documentary about them Jon and Kate plus however many kids they have.

I've never watched but seen it advertised a lot.

geordieminx · 12/11/2009 21:35

Older ones seem to have gone off the rails a bit - it does seem very manic in the house, although she does cope well.

I think its probably easier for her having 8 babies (plus the other 6) than its going to be when she has 8 toddlers (plus the other 6)... I struggle with 1 2 year old.

She's always going to need help isnt she? I mean even in 5/10 years time... how would you go about taking them out in the car??

She got $1million from a tv deal with one of the american channels IIRC - bought house with it.

Its a shame her and her mother have fallen out.

Lilyloo · 12/11/2009 21:35

TBH i think her eldest is crying out for some privacy too.

MollieO · 12/11/2009 21:37

How horrible it must be to be raising your family amongst all that hostility.

ShinyAndNew · 12/11/2009 21:37

here It's actually only eight dc they have, which is a fair few less than 14, but weren't the octuplets meant to be just twins?

Ewe · 12/11/2009 21:38

Jon & Kate

She must be so bloody tired all the time.

OP posts:
dingdong3 · 12/11/2009 21:39

Jon and Kate have 8 kids - they had twins first off with fertility treatment and then had to do the same for a third kid and ended up with 6 more...have a good show on Discovery Home and Health....Kate's really intense (makes for great TV!!) and very into the publicity. Last I read, her hubby had boycotted the next series and there were rumours of the marriage being on the rocks....

holdingittogether · 12/11/2009 21:39

She is nicer than I thought she would be. I do think it is irresponsible though from the point of view that she had 6 children already. I know she didn't intentionally go out to have octuplets but with having 6 embryos put back she must have known there was a good chance of multiples. I wonder what they will all think when they get older?

Jon and Kate plus 8 have half the children she has! The Duggars ofcourse are on number 19 or something crazy but that is over 20 odd yrs so is different than having them all so young.

BratleyBansBaubles · 12/11/2009 21:39

DingDong, I was trying to think who she reminded me of and you hit it on the head, Katie Price.
But a bit nicer!

I agree, she's doing what she can with what she has.
She shouldn't have had so many embryos implanted, but you can't change whats already done.

It does seem like everythings right on that edge constantly, her nerves, their feelings, everyones temper.

The thing is, Ewe, she can't spend an hour with each of them a day, they said they get 10 minutes per pair a day

Ewe · 12/11/2009 21:40

I bet she would love to work

OP posts:
JesusChristOtterStar · 12/11/2009 21:41

bratley - you are misquoting

she said she gives them 10 minutes quality time in 'rounds' not per day

dingdong3 · 12/11/2009 21:42

OMG...Jon and Kate HAVE split up! Just read on that link...I don't have sky anymore so haven't seen their show for a bit....sad news
