That was a horrible ending.

BlackLetterDay · 10/07/2009 22:09

It doesn't make any sense, if they only had to kill the one 456 in the tank, why didn't they just fill it with oxygen . It was good drama but the alien part of the story was weak to say the least.

edam · 10/07/2009 22:09

Yeah, why didn't Jack stop and think about how to beat the 456 on Monday, not the last two minutes of Friday's episode?

Bastard. Sacrificing your son (grandson) might have worked for Abraham but more than 2,000 years later it is not generally considered A Good Thing.

JackieNo · 10/07/2009 22:10

THat was so grim . I hated it. I hated how sad and unremittingly gloomy it all ended up. And the fact that it seems like it really is the end of Torchwood.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 10/07/2009 22:10

Jesus wept that was traumatic

my bloody dh has to come in and ask if I am alright just when Jack is sacrificing his grandson for the greater good so I start crying....

Very impressed though torchwood is all grown up.

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot · 10/07/2009 22:11

Bloody hell that was hard

Almost walked out at the kids on the buses, but glad I didnt as not quite as horrendous as yesterday for some reason.

It won't open dialogue; the dialogue we need is why children who are disadvantaged are so very effectively separated from society.

Poora rea, disinterested aprents. in care, disabled- the minute you get that box tick it gores from promoting everything you can achieve to firefighting any attaempt to get money spent on you

Its the way and wioll always be the same

bruces · 10/07/2009 22:11

OMG cried so much it was fantastic if this programme doesn't win awards there is no justice!

Frasersmum123 · 10/07/2009 22:11

The drama was good and I cried like a baby when he sacraficed Stephen, but the whole thing dragged out far too long, then wrapped up far too quickly.

pasturesnew · 10/07/2009 22:12

is Dekker the evil caretaker?

What I would have like to have seen is if Jack thought he'd killed Stephen, so suffered agonosing remorse and killed himself, turns out it mostly works because kiss to Ianto was "magic" and drained Jack's powers, so Jack ends up as just a head (to devp into Face of Boe) and then Stephen and Ianto can both come back to life.

TheFool · 10/07/2009 22:12

I cried through most of it {blames hormones}

He put on the suit and then sort of collapsed in a relieved way I think Reality.

I took it that they weren't just killing the one alien, but they were showing that they knew how to do it so they wouldn't come back iyswim

Agree poorbuthappy - the resolution was crammed into 15 minutes and was far too short.

Presumably the 456 in the tank wasn't the only one - and when it blew up, the rest of them will have done too?

TheFool · 10/07/2009 22:16

Love you just taking my word for it

I was very close to turning off as they were loading them on the coaches. Just that gut wrenching feeling of "we've been here in reality".

BlackLetterDay · 10/07/2009 22:18

Well I thought this last episode was disappointing, I still blubbed, but I think they should have included a bit where the frequency was transmitted to the "rest" of the awaiting hordes of 456, would make more sense.

l39 · 10/07/2009 22:18

At least it wasn't a Blakes Seven ending. (Anyone else traumatised by that at an early age?)

Replacing the Prime Minister with the woman who was even worse than him is not justice! I can see that Miss Spears only cared about revenge for Frobisher but why did Lois, Gwen and Rhys not release their film?

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot · 10/07/2009 22:18

But edam they never asked

you'd have thought they'd ask

excuse me Mr Addict but are tehre any mroe of you or ahs your ilk all murdered each other in some junklie gang fest which is why you're down hewre as your dealer died

that sort of thing

bronze · 10/07/2009 22:18

just finished watching

shit and.... oh... crap

I dunno what to say

Am bloody glad its over to be honest

As a bit of drama goes to tme they've done it right for once. Too many fairy tale happy endings that just arent realistic normally
but my God I wish I had never started watching

AitchTwoOh · 10/07/2009 22:18

actually have recovered composure now and declare torchwood full of crap. i love a bit of emotional manipulation, i really do, but the plot had holes you could drive an army truck through. thrilling but stupid.

bigfatmummy · 10/07/2009 22:18

That was horrendous. It was disturbing to the point that I didn't know what to say when it finished. I have always loved Torchwood and thought the first 3 episodes this week were good. Last night I found hard going and tonight, well, it certainly wasn't entertaining in anyway. Utter dissbelief that a programme so good went so so so wrong. Unbeliveable. I never thought I 'd say that I hope Torchwood never comes back - it's lost any entertainment value it may have once had.

MomDePlume · 10/07/2009 22:19

Bloody hell. This week was the first time I've ever watched Torchwood. I will now be putting the rest of it on my lovefilm list immediately. I actually felt physically sick for about the last half hour.
