...from a distinctly underwhelming performance. This is the voting breakdown - Nick Hell nearly beat Diversity.

76.9% Susan Boyle
7.5% Natalie Okri
4.8% Diversity
4.5% Nick Hell
3.6% Face of Disco
1.5% Darth Jackson
0.9% Sue Son
0.3% Julia Naidenko

Interesting. She'll walk it, won't she.

shavenhaven · 25/05/2009 17:28

bloody hell that is a huge win.

so glad diversity managed to get through.

i think a lot of people would have voted for nick hell to see if simon really would resign.

gscrym · 25/05/2009 17:29

I was watching Father Ted last night and Susan Boyle just makes me think of the Owen McLove episode. I can see her besieged by old ladies bearing cakes and wanting to make her a cup of tea.

wrinklytum · 25/05/2009 17:29

Didn't see it.Is she the frumpy looking woman with the fabulous voice?Good on her.Is Natalie Okri the really cute little girl who sang too?

VoteMerlin · 25/05/2009 17:29

Wasn't Sue Son the one who lost her best friend after the judges asked her to choose?

MichelleObama · 25/05/2009 17:31

Natalie was so cute, but my heart was breaking for her at the end. She had to walk off that huge stage all by herself and was clearly not too sure which direction to head in. They should have let her mum go on with her, it was very sad to watch.

ramonaquimby · 25/05/2009 17:36

she was cute, but not a great song for her, too many backing vocals coming through, and song too old for her.

def should have had her mum there to walk with her off stage

pointydog · 25/05/2009 17:45

her singing really isn't that great. The british public is not very good at spotting talent

pointydog · 25/05/2009 17:45

(i am talking of boyle)

FiveGoMadInDorset · 25/05/2009 17:47

First time I have heard and really wonbering what all the fuss is about

violethill · 25/05/2009 18:17

In terms of actual talent, then Diversity are easily the best of what was on last night.

Susan Boyle actually has a fairly ordinary voice, and now that we've lost the 'wow, that was unexpected' factor, she hasn't anything really amazing to offer.

Ditto Natalie Okri - she has the cutesy factor first time round, but last night was a distinctly ordinary 10 yr old dancing and singing along to a backing track.

Diversity show genuine creativity in designing their own performance, and I think the mix of ages works well and says something about the kind of people they are - they really are bringing together a diverse group of people and creating something different and impressive.

Picante · 25/05/2009 18:19

How did you know that? Do you have inside information? I thought they didn't let on stuff like that. V interesting - please do it for every semi!

BanjosFanjo · 25/05/2009 18:20

Are you their agent?

But I do love Diversity- I have changed my name today in honour of their hunky choreographer

FiveGoMadInDorset · 25/05/2009 19:37

Actually she is very ordinary

JackBauer · 25/05/2009 19:50

I was not impressed by Susan Boyle, she started really badly. And the little girl was cute, but not as talented as Diversity. I find it hard to believe that they are all 'natural' dancers so they must have to work bloody hard to get that good.

I quite enjoyed Faces of Disco though

MrsMcCluskey · 25/05/2009 19:53

Faces of Disco - wow, those bodies!

slummybutyummy · 25/05/2009 20:32

The breakdown seems a bit odd - I couldn't get through to diversity but was able to call for susan boyle. I was only really impressed by Diversity but didn't want Natalie to win over Susan Boyle. She's had so much media attention it would be sad for her to lose at that stage.

Do you think phone lines were fixed?

slummybutyummy · 25/05/2009 20:35

also how gorgeous is Diversity's leader? A fab choreographer, beautiful looking, clever (doing Physics at uni) and, I noticed last night, HUGE! Really tall and muscly!

PerfectPrefect · 25/05/2009 20:35

Do you erckon that there were more phone lines available for Susan therefore it was easier for people to get through to vote for her?

slummybutyummy · 25/05/2009 20:36

could be perfectprefect... they kept saying the whole world was watching. If she is that big a story I think they'll want to keep her in.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 25/05/2009 20:39

And I really didn't like her, thought she was too cocky by half an believing her own hype

DiamondHead · 25/05/2009 20:42

Where does that info come from. I thought it wasn't released.

PerfectPrefect · 25/05/2009 20:44

Digital Spy are quoting SkyNews as teh source but I haven't found it on the Sky website (yet)

TwoIfBySea · 25/05/2009 21:11

I worry that she'll end up being dreadfully exploited, it is well known round here that she has mental health issues so this could end badly.

stressed2007 · 25/05/2009 21:22

Susan Boyle - it was VERY ordinary. Looks like it is n't going to be a talent show if she is just going to walk it - seriously I have heard as good the time I went to a karaoke bar - some of them are good down there but not enough to win this sort of show.
