'Busy' comes to mind about that room

I'm watching. Have been enjoying it though it seems to have got a lot of negative comments on here.

JackBauerkillspigs · 30/04/2009 20:10

Oh the shame, I posted on teh wrong thread!
But anyway, as I was saying
That room she was raving about would give me a headache in about 45 seconds.

I just get irritated by teh way she is trying to be the Jamie or Hugh FW of home-making. When what she is suggesting si so much more expensive than a nomral person can afford.

MaureenMLove · 30/04/2009 20:10

I'm watching. I think the negative comments have come from the fact she seems to think all these tradesmen are easily accessable to us all! And that any of them would be willing to let us loose in the workshops!! Some of the stuff she does isn't cheap either. Still, I like it, I like seeing what she does, even if I'll never be able to afford/have time to do it myself.

I think the point is, to take aspects of her ideas, not all of them!

littlelamb · 30/04/2009 20:14

Yes, I enjoy it too but really, if we're going for the 'recycled' thing I'd personally be on a charity shop mission rather than hunting down my own blacksmith. But that's cos I is poor innit

JackBauerkillspigs · 30/04/2009 20:15

She is such a girl

BitOfFun · 30/04/2009 20:16

I wondered about the goggles too...I am wincing!

BitOfFun · 30/04/2009 20:16

Wow

littlelamb · 30/04/2009 20:18

I am almost disappointed

Also, if she has done this for renting out, why spend so much time and money on something which may well get pinched?!

Oops. Bad coat alert.

See, I quite fancy going to a wreck yard to find stuff.

littlelamb · 30/04/2009 20:23

Ah I love our rec yard. I got an amazing ottoman for ds's room for a tenner.

You'd have to flirt with a sweaty man in overalls though maureen!

ItsAllaBitNoisy · 30/04/2009 20:24

Sink? It's a bath.

MaureenMLove · 30/04/2009 20:24

Knitting and stitching not my bag though...

JackBauerkillspigs · 30/04/2009 20:24

But if you go to a rec yard they are piled high with stuff and you ahve to hunt and dig, and they are all miserable gits and will fleece you soon as look at you!

But I suppose if you turn up in a wool coat and camera crew you might get a better deal

MaureenMLove · 30/04/2009 20:25

I do that every night when DH gets in!

JackBauerkillspigs · 30/04/2009 20:25

I take it back, that room would do my head in.

BitOfFun · 30/04/2009 20:25

Its all a bit noisy, rofl, how apt for this room!

littlelamb · 30/04/2009 20:25

God I would be scared to go into a house like that. It looks like it should belong to a crazy cat lady who has bene cutting pictures out of magazines and sticking them on her wall for a decade

MaureenMLove · 30/04/2009 20:26

Er no. I don't think I would fall in love with that pot actually! [girn]

littlelamb · 30/04/2009 20:27

No Jackbauer, our rec man is loverly. Though I do suspect that a good pair of tits and a smiley ds might have sealed the bargain
