Can someone explain ER tonight to me please?

Were we supposed to understand what happened to the girl (Jodie?) Or is it a 'to be continued...' Or am I just being thick?

her boyf attacked her in some way (the implication being that that had happened before or some such and that was what made her suicidal) and then her dad killed her boyf.

Or I have got it all wrong...

i wish i could but my f*ing grandmother in law phoned from new zealand, even though she knows dp is at work and she doesnt even like me and she made me miss half of it!

Oh I don't answer the phone if ER is on . But I do hate it when it's cryptic. Keep thinking that perhaps something was muttered at top speed that I missed...as so often in ER.

I thought that in last week's episode the girl with sickle cell had died and it was just in Neela's dreams that she survived but I obviously got that one wrong?

I got the impression that the b/f was doing some sort of controlling / emotional abuse type of thing and she was on the verge of telling doc morris, but didnt. Boyfriend did it again at home infront of her dad and dad saw it flipped and killed b/f

As for the dream episode, I thought it was deliberately left vague as to which of the days were real and which were dreams. And then we found out this week which was the 'real' version of events. So girl survived, but Neela didn't sleep with odious Australian doc. Was quite relived by that . And then she went and snogged him at the end of this week's episode anyway!

Where is Ray, I ask myself?

Ray's living elsewhere, somewhere near his mum as she's had to help him with his reabilitation - he visited a few episodes back and they were going to kiss but he said he was getting his life back together now and kind of implied that Neela would only f*ck him up again so she hasn't gone there. They're still good friends though and ring each other.

I quite like Simon

the last episode kind of hinted that Neela's dream had given her insights into other stuff: the way they treated the girl with sickle cell; the way she knew but didn't know about thingy's (Angela Bassett's) IVF; and the way she'd dreamt about Simon.

and yes, Jodie's dad saw the boyfriend attack her outside the house and he flipped

Is next week the finale? How on earth will they tie all ends up before then? I've missed a few episodes - has Dr Ross come back yet? And I thought Mark Greene was returning (in dream form) and Carter?

I am sounding more and more like my grandmother, who couldn't stand an uncertain ending to a TV show .

The last one was episode 13, and the last one is 22 so there's still quite a few to go.

I did see the Ray episode, but am living in hope that he and Neela finally get it together before the end of the show.

Thanks for the explanation sphil.

Just discovered that Angela Bassett's husband in real life is playing her husband in the show. They also had many years of trying to have a child before having twins through a surrogate. Very close to home for both of them. More gossip - Neela is pregnant in real life.

Itchy - you're not alone. I also like Simon -odd for me as I don't normally go for blonds - but find it difficult to see what he sees in Neela whose default expression seems to be very moody.

they've just had the finale or are getting it very soon in the US.

Mark Greene was in the episode where you found out what had happened to Abgela Bassett's son. They did flashbacks to a few years back and Dr Greene was their doctor in the ER.

Carter's coming back very soon in the UK ones, looking for a job I read. Alex Kingston's already been back in Neela's dream (which was a bit of a waste of her imo). William H macy is back next week. I didn't really watch it when he was in it in the first series but dh the dds bought me series 1 for mothers day so I think I'll watch them from scratch when they finish for good here.

The finale has just aired in the US this week - we're behind as usual!

ECM - I hadn't realised that Angela BAssett's husband was also her H IRL.

yes that's interesting about angela bassett. They do make a good couple in the show.

I hope Archie finds true love. I really like him. Think simon is sposed to like Neela because she's his equal or even his superior (like me and dh ) unlike all the bimbos he usually goes for and is horrible to.

It's nice to see how Archies character has changed. ER is very good at doing that in introducing people and bringing them on.
I'll be sad when the series finishes as it is one of my fav shows.

Mark Greene has already been back in flashback form, he was the doctor that treated Banfields child when he died.

I love ER, very sad that it is ending

I hope Archie gets with that policewoman, she seems nice, and I love him.
I hope Sam and Gates get back together.
I hope Neela and Ray get together (love them both, oh and she looks amazing pregnant)

thought it was quite an obvious one..i.e. bf controlling and abusive...hence girk trying to kill herself...father already not sure and after chat with doc aswell as seeing an argument....

I'm that it is ending, its one of the few programmes that I look forward to and there is nothing else like it on TV.

Another quality programme gone to be replaced with cheap boring rubbish I suppose

quack..totaly agree...I love ER...it's something that was fluent in my life...I watched it in german ewvery night before I went out on a weekend...and watched it on a night in ever since moving to the uk
