Pruners, it was bloody marvellous. The imagination of his insults, and the judicious use of c*k and C*t when thoroughly deserved always make me cheer.

Shrodingers cat indeed. I know I've spelled that wrong, but I actually should be in bed, and spelling doesn't matter there.

Agreed, Pruners. He's fab. So spot on about vox pops etc and the impact of 'public emotion' on the supposedly objective news.

I haven't seen it (I'm saving Newswipe for a Gigantic TV session on Friday) but I love Charlie's work. He is particularly gifted in the 'undyingly useful obscenities' department

I think it is entirely possible that he is the most cynical man in the world, and worry for his health, but I, for one, am glad he's around.

Being that cynical and grumpy is tiring- can you imagine the rant about the hotel breakfast, or getting a seat by the window, or people getting in fromt of you in the queue?
I deal witht this sort of thing from Dh on a day to day basis.

whilst it is funny and incisive on big topics and stuff that i agree with, it can be somehwat wearing when it is about more minor issues in life

I think your mate got away with it actually, mrsbeng.

And did any of you see Broken News. That was bloody funny too.
I really can't watch the news anynmore after brass eye and broken news.I always end up sniggering
