We never bothered watching it when it was on TV but hired the DVDs at the beginning of the year (and then bought them )

OMG, it is SO funny, definitely the best comedy on TV at the moment IMHO. Can't wait for the next series.

I watched it on BBC3 last night for the first time ever. It was great.
Now I want to watch them all.

Habbibu · 17/03/2009 11:29

Easily. james corden makes my eyes and ears bleed.

Habbibu · 17/03/2009 11:29

And you are clearly a lover of Spaced, Daisy!

McDreamy · 17/03/2009 11:29

Tis fab although BIL & SIL don't like it/get it

JODIEwantsanewname · 17/03/2009 11:30

I'm a big fan too, Ruth Jones and James Cordon are comic genius's (geni???)

Someone commented that G & S will be this generation's Only Fools and Horses, I think they might be right!

DaisyMooSteiner · 17/03/2009 11:32

The sketch show with James Corden and the bloke who plays Gavin is absolute shit though. Which makes me think that Ruth Jones is the real comic genius!

Yes, Spaced is another one I LOVE that I missed first time round.

I like it but DH doesn't purely because of his ir/rational hatred of james Corden and Matt Horne.

I think Rob Brydon is the best thing in it though.

subtlemouse · 17/03/2009 11:33

I don't have a sense of humour.

Flibbertyjibbet · 17/03/2009 11:33

I've never watched it and have no desire too. If I need a funny dvd I put my old 'Green Wing' one on.

DaisyMooSteiner · 17/03/2009 11:39

Ah, but that's what I thought Flibbertyjibbet until dh forced me to sit through it!

You are right about Spaced, Daisy - don't you go off the path of righteousness now.

EyeballsintheSky · 17/03/2009 11:48

Have never seen it. Apart from the Apprentice and Eastenders, most of my TV likes are rooted firmly in the past

TheOddOne · 17/03/2009 11:52

I love Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones but i haven't enjoyed G&S. I just don't get tragic type comedies like Bread etc. There's already enough of that in RL.

Now give me The IT Crowd...........

TheOddOne · 17/03/2009 11:54

......and don't get me started on 'Outnumbered'.

andlipsticktoo · 17/03/2009 12:09

Alison Steadman is hilarious as Gavin's mum, absolutely spot on with her fussy mumsieness!

And Ruth Jones is fab! Dh and I say 'aarlight' to each other all the time now (yes we are that sad)

MargaretMountford · 17/03/2009 12:16

I'm in two minds about this - I think Rob Bryden is fantastic as is Ruth Jones and I love the whole 'Welshness' of it, but it is slightly sinister- something a bit nasty underneath it...
I absolutely loved Spaced and Green Wing btw

Furball · 17/03/2009 12:25

Pam on Gavins return from work - 'oh gav, I've had a terrible morning, I watched pet rescue and a badger lost one of her babies you should of heard the mother she was literally crying'

TheOddOne · 17/03/2009 12:31

Yes MAS / MM - that's what i feel. It's a bit 'sinister' but i can't quite put my finger on it.

MargaretMountford · 17/03/2009 12:34

oh good TheOddOne - I was worried that I might be looking to much into it !

Rindercella · 17/03/2009 16:51

Love G&S.

I'm going to see Rob Brydon's show on Monday Can't wait

verygreenlawn · 17/03/2009 18:22

There is definitely an undertone to it - the unspoken horror of "what happened" on the camping trip between Uncle Bryn and the nephew is really dark.

Furball you just really made me laugh, I love Pam. I always picture her with her nose in a packet of ham desperately pretending to be a vegetarian ....

DaisyMooSteiner · 17/03/2009 18:41

Nessa on her life with John Prescott made me PMSL

"I had a cracking social life. Many a night we'd have David Blunkett and his bitch round for dinner"

OP posts:
blinks · 17/03/2009 19:19

i feel entirely unmoved by it.

Saltire · 17/03/2009 20:48

My brother saw Rob Brydon a while ago and said it was hilarious, my brother had tears of laughter.

I love Gavin and Stacey, I do think Nessa's hilarious with all her stories about John Prescott and Kate Adie

PlumBumMum · 17/03/2009 20:50

I love it and my MIL is just like Pam its hilarious
