Did anyone ever watch Twin Peaks?

I am watching the second series on DVD at the moment and I'm really loving it

The relationships between the characters are so complex and some bits are downright bizarre. Did anyone else watch Twin peaks, or have you seen it since.
When it first aired I was only 8 or 9, and my mum used to make me and my dsis come in her bed to watch it with her as she was scared of Bob!

Loved it, it was on when I was in secondary school and I was obsessed. I had the soundtrack and used to wish I lived in Twin Peaks. I was in love with the bad guy with the brown hair and floppy fringe, what was his name???

oopsagain · 14/03/2009 22:37

wasn't there a film? That was wierd as well, I saw bits of it.

EightiesChick · 14/03/2009 22:45

Yes, when I was in secondary school. Two of my friends also watched and we used to discuss it the next morning and puzzle over what it all meant. I wonder if it would all make more sense now? Loved it though; it was probably the first consciously 'difficult' TV programme I ever watched where I reallty concentrated on working out the hidden meanings. Great practice for my English degree...

I was also scared of Bob. They made the whole Bob thing genuinely very, very creepy.

cyteen · 14/03/2009 22:48

ilikeyoursleeves I believe you are referring to the rather wonderful Bobby Briggs

Twin Peaks is great, still. I seem to remember all the teachers at my school being resigned to never getting anything done on Wednesdays as everyone was too busy discussing the previous night's episode to bother paying attention.

Poledra · 14/03/2009 22:53

Fuck, you're all too young - I was at uni when it was on, and it was obligatory TV. Usually pissed or worse, mind you, so I have no idea what happened (though we understood it perfectly at the time of course ).

ninah · 14/03/2009 22:54

omg I am so old i was MARRIED when it was on .. loved it, the music, everything, I'm gonna get the dvd now it doesn't look too dated does it?

southeastastra · 14/03/2009 22:55

yes i loved it, dp looks like bob sometimes though

ninah · 14/03/2009 22:57

bob is terrifying!

cyteen · 14/03/2009 23:08

ninah it actually doesn't look particularly dated, thanks to the quasi-Fifties styling.

gemmiegoatlegs · 14/03/2009 23:11

Sae your dp looks like Bob? How can you bear it. my dh changed his facebook profile pic to bob and i still cacked myself!

oh great, I'm watching then. Loved it, those swaying pines, the trippy bar sequences, I'm there

wintera · 15/03/2009 08:48

Like others on here I was in High School when it was on and me and my mates absolutely loved it to bits. We were all terrified of Bob! The film was called Twin Peaks - Fire Walk with Me. We all went to see it at the flicks and the bit when Bob jumps out at Laura in her bedroom had us all trying to jump over our seats!

I recently watched some of it again and I must say I was really shocked at the power of some of the scenes. Most notably the scene where Maddie is murdered. Very graphic and very scary too!

Anyone want to see some scary bits? Here are a couple to bring back all your memories! Warning though, the second clip is intense!

I watched it, I even went to the 48 hour showing of the whole thing in a cinema off Leicester Square way back when (where you could buy small cherry pies and coffee to keep you going.)

JazzHands · 15/03/2009 09:20

Saw it at the time but was quite young but can't remember much. Except the fab music and there were very beautiful women.

Polgara2 · 15/03/2009 09:37

Oh gosh what a blast from the past Twin peaks! Used to love it whilst thinking it was well weird at the same time. Bob - yes. What was the girl called with the dark hair - I have a terrible memory. Shd went really thin as I remember?

Dior · 15/03/2009 09:40

I LOVED the series. I have the first one and the prequel film on DVD. I don't think you can get Series Two on DVD. H and I watched them together (him first time) a few years ago and he actually enjoyed them, which he didn't expect to. I was in love with Agent Cooper!

helips · 15/03/2009 13:36

I was totally obsessed by this when I was younger. Had every episode on tape, bought the single, had posters on my wall and even read Laura Palmers secret diary. Wish they would repeat it on tv now, that would be brill...
