Did anyone ever watch Twin Peaks?

I am watching the second series on DVD at the moment and I'm really loving it

The relationships between the characters are so complex and some bits are downright bizarre. Did anyone else watch Twin peaks, or have you seen it since.
When it first aired I was only 8 or 9, and my mum used to make me and my dsis come in her bed to watch it with her as she was scared of Bob!

remember the Log Lady?

TwoIfBySea · 15/03/2009 13:44

I had just left school when it first came on I absolutely adored it.

Bob terrified me completely.

runs in shrieking I have been to the Diner! the show was filmed in North Bend, Wa near Seattle DH and I stopped there last year.. we didn't have pie though as it was 9am.. we did have coffee with our breakfast... I haven't watched the show since it was actually on though I keep looking for the boxed set going cheap.. or to borrow off of someone.

I used to watch this through my hands. I was going to refuse to watch those links further up this thread but I just watched the first one and now my heart is all thumping! I'm not going to watch the 2nd!

peggotty · 15/03/2009 19:48

Polgara, are you thinking of Sherilyn Fenn?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 15/03/2009 20:44

I loved Twin Peaks. I was working by then < very old, me!> and we were obsessed by it in my office - we talked about it all week and would never consider going out on Twin Peaks night.
You're lucky Mumsnet wasn't around in those days Gemmie, I can imagine the reaction if your Mum had asked whether you should be allowed to watch it in AIBU!

Polgara2 · 16/03/2009 12:02

Yes Peggotty that's right Sherilyn Fenn! Toodles off to google what she's like now

gemmiegoatlegs · 16/03/2009 12:05

my mum looks like the log Lady! Me and my dsis are trying to get her to go to a fancy dress party with a log as a prop!

I loved it too - used to watch it with my Dad... Do you remember the funny backwards dream talking they did with the dwarf. All so weird and so up my street aged 16! We all would discuss at school the next day, and all loved kyle maclachlan and David duchovny!!

gemmiegoatlegs · 16/03/2009 12:19

david Duchovny looks fab in a dress

didn't he tho - I still have a mental picture of him in stockings and suspenders. He can play all the action heroes he likes, but he won't be able to superimpose on that one!!

Jenbot · 16/03/2009 16:45

I remember my mum watching it then having to stop when it got too weird as she was dreaming about it all the time.

My friends went to a pub a couple of years ago where they played the film and two series back to back in a lock-in type thing.

I've only seen series one, liked it!

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 17/03/2009 14:09

I LOVED it - Dale Cooper

Eowyn · 17/03/2009 17:16

Best series ever. I have everything I could find to do with it. Didn't know 2nd series was out on DVD, I have it all on video...

I should have known I was incompatible with my H when he fell asleep during it.

Meglet · 17/03/2009 20:52

Eeeeek! I'm too scared to go up to bed now. Twin peaks was fab but it still gives me the willies 19 years on!

NorbertDentressangle · 17/03/2009 20:55

Oh I loved Twin Peaks -I'd love to see it again to see if its as good as I remembered

poshwellies · 17/03/2009 21:13

Loved it.

They don't make TV programmes like that anymore
