Bless, they are a bit stiff and scripted at the moment aren't they!
Must be quite scary, right, there's only a few hundred thousand preschoolers watching, and their parents, off you go!

(NB, watching until builders arrive at mums and then turning telly off, honest)

Must be quite nerve-racking, but it's not like it's live........
Hope there is some improvement very quickly, but then there won't be any joy in this house until Chris and Pui are back, but that won't happen.........

JackBauer · 26/01/2009 09:09

I know, if that was the best take they managed it doesn't bode well!
Just as long as they stop doing that stupid 'bright' voice I am happy...(but I still want hugo monkey back ...)

I loved Hugo Monkey.....
I sing it to ds in the supermarket queue if he gets a bit ump-y!
And yes the amazement, happy voices need to go quickly

VampiresWalkin · 26/01/2009 09:12

DS looked quite concerned and asked me to change channel

EllieG · 26/01/2009 09:13

I don't like the girl and the frog before ITNG at bedtime. Can't tell which is which cos they are both squeeky.

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 09:14

Hahaha Vamp.
My ds is a bit of a traitor and seems happy with whatever is happening, in fact I watch it more than he does anyway, he's off playing in his room atm but I'm watching Balamory

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 09:15

Ellie Skye and Jelly are no more now

EllieG · 26/01/2009 09:16

Hurray! What happened to them?

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 09:19

Dunno. Maybe Cbeebies producers realised they are the most annoying things on the planet?......
And Jelly's on everything anyway, there's no escaping!

JackBauer · 26/01/2009 09:20

They were rounded up and shot for being too squaely before bedtime

Kiddie TV is a harsh world clearly

VampiresWalkin · 26/01/2009 09:24

They really should do an adults Cbeebies where we see executions as they happen (kind of like springwatch), and Upsy Daisy is exposed for the harlot she is.

EllieG · 26/01/2009 09:25

Yes, I am often disturbed by what she and iggle piggle get up to

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 09:28

Hehehe. All that knicker flashing is not setting the best example is it?

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 26/01/2009 09:41

OOh bless them - I think they will be great once they relax a bit

MaggsS · 26/01/2009 10:19

My DD2 wasn't bothered but I sat waiting to see what happened at 9am.

I'm sure they'll soon relax and settle in.

Still miss Chris & Pui ( and of course Hugo Monkey!!!)

KayHarkerIsNotAnAuthority · 26/01/2009 13:55

Well, I think they're fine - I remember (back in the mists of time) when Cbeebies first started, and all the original presenters were really quite stiff, but they settled eventually. Even quite recently, Andy is very laid-back now.

In fact, if you watch early Tweenies episodes, Jake's voice is notably more 'scripty' than later episodes where Justin Fletcher had settled in to the character more. (I should write a poncetastic essay, shouldn't I? )

Can I just give serious props to the BBC for giving my kids a role-model type person with a visible disability, in a non-tokenist way? Thrilled about that, actually.

peggotty · 26/01/2009 14:12

My dd has just had a little cry when I told her Chris and Pui are not going to be on cbeebies any more. Where have they gone again? New presenters are always awful, it's The Law that they should be wooden and scripted and look like rabbits caught in headlamps. Andy was dreadful at first, but I quite like him now, although he's such a geek!

missymo · 26/01/2009 15:44

Oh where are Chris and Pui...and I so miss Hugo monkey, I have only just learnt the words to it. lol.
He is ok, she is a bit wooden. But much better then Jelly and the other woman we had for the last few weeks.
All we need now is for them to change the programmes to new ones, I am fed up of seeing Barnaby bear at the chester plays!!!

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 18:50

Who the F* is that?

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 18:51

No, it's ok, it the jackanory type story thing. Sorry, thought there was another new presenter.

treacletart · 26/01/2009 18:58

Only caught the last few seconds today but there's a little video message to the grown ups from them here

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 18:58

OMGFG
They have the newbies singing the bedtime/goodnight song........
Our last bit of Chris, torn from us without warning.

Good job I sing it louder than the tv anyway.

EBenes · 26/01/2009 18:59

Don't tell me Chris and Pui are gone for good!

treacletart · 26/01/2009 19:01

I read they were working on a new programme together ... their last little goodnight message on new years eve was extra poignant you know - it was all "what are your hopes for the new year pui?"
