I'm not sure, but then again, I don't eat at top restaurants etc so presumably they are employed at one of those...?

And did you see the bloke who burnt the pork chop in the first week?!! Fab!!

I know bless him, there surely must be a qualifying period which he got through - his big break and he burnt his chop

so she won in 2005

who was 2006, 2007 and last year?!?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 15/01/2009 22:03

One of them (2007 I think) was that Peter bloke - oldish guy - was in final with Dean - young builder or something, and a lady who did lots of indian cookery.

beansprout · 15/01/2009 22:06

That bloke with the curly hair (James?) won it last year.

beansprout · 15/01/2009 22:07

What I loved about chop bloke was a) he just chucked some sauce on and b) he had only got through as he made pudding and Wallace is such a sucker for anything sweet!

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/01/2009 22:10

Ah, 2007 was actually Steve. Remember him now I've googled.

Oh yes, James.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/01/2009 22:14

Here's the year I was remembering - 2006 it seems.

fishie · 15/01/2009 22:22

i saw james on something recently. didn't like him either.

fishie · 15/01/2009 22:25

2006 that boiled kumquat thing looks vile.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/01/2009 22:43

I didn't like Peter - was a snooty whatsit who thought he was so much better than the other contestants, when really he wasn't. I'd like to know what's happened to Dean since. He was very nice.

OllieWollieWoo · 16/01/2009 12:31

I'm sure I saw Dean on some daytime show a few months ago doing a cookery section - remember thinking he was really good!

Molesworth · 16/01/2009 12:34

I saw big round Steven (2007 winner) assisting Sophie Grigson on some cookery show whose name I forget.

I might have dreamed this, but I'm sure I saw a "Where are they now?" programme in which Digger Dean had set up his own dinner party catering service.

DP has eaten at Wahaca and says it's fab.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 16/01/2009 13:05

Wahaca is very nice and the food is good. However, you need to get there early as the place fills up fast.

Service is good overall.
