Wasn't the xmas day episode rubbish. It's always been good in the past but last night's was dire.

We missed the ending! As it started late, it stopped recording when they started talking about the vienetta! No amazing ending then? Am surprised it hasnt been repeated in the middle of the night.

They should have left them sat in front of the telly. Denise could have been on netmums.

You can watch it on BBC iPlayer like I did but i wouldn't bother if I were you - it was shite.

oh well me & Dh were wetting ourselves, must be in minority (unlike G&S which was fairly funny & Matter of Loaf & Death which we really looked forward to but although clever just wasnt as funny as the old ones).

I preferred it to QoS one, as was too sad and - although well done - you knew she was going to die in the episode. I do want laughs at christmas. Sorry, I always thought Dave & Denise were morons tbh. Jim was really nsaty tho wasnt he & the kids lacking bit was unrealistic and just convenient for the script-writing. I liked the ongoing turkey saga (who hasnt brought a turkey that hardly fits the oven & wondered if it could be cut-up and de-frosted in the microwave?)

It was the suggestion that she could cut a leg off the turkey and put it in the toaster that got me giggling.

Tbh, i thought they went looking for every joke about chavs they could find and used them all. Twas poor, indeed.

It went on at least 15 minutes too long and was not up to usual standard at all. But I did like the joke about Christmas not being a day for kids.... I've been quoting that all week...

Aitch - Fair point, well made. I agree with everything you said. Jim was uncharacteristically nasty in this episode, and the turkey thing was completely ridiculous.

The episode where nana died, and the one where Denise was in the bathroom with Jim when she went into labour were wonderful. Well observed, full of heart, and ultimately all about the closeness of the family. This was just utter shite.

Same as Aitch. We couldn't watch it to the end.
