Daisha had a Niagara moment in the lift with Joseph. My waters broke whilst I was lying down so have no idea if this was realistic. Someone please tell me it wasn't?!

Also, does she intend to stay living home with surrogate dad Mark and bring up baby - why doesnt Mark where Nurse's uniform?

If the baby wasn't engaged she could get a Niagra moment; if the baby was engaged it would be less likely as the head would probably limit the flow to a trickle.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 05/11/2008 15:37

Poor Mr Burn thought he was going to be drowned

DITDOT · 05/11/2008 16:05

Mrs OCD .Mark is a nurse manager type thing and gets to wear a suit. He got promoted months ago!

artichokes · 05/11/2008 16:07

My waters were borken artificially and they FLOWED. Even several mins later when I stood up they were still gushing. There was just so much (and my baby's head was engaged).

GunpowderTreasonAndLemon · 05/11/2008 16:18

But you were lying down / reclined initially, weren't you? Mine went while I was lying down (or, technically, in the process f getting up) with DS and virtually flooded the house (and they wouldn't stop coming when I stood up), but with DD they went while I was standing and I just got continual trickle (mind you, with DS I was not very dilated when my waters went but with DD I was, so that may have contributed in some way).

SpookyMadMummy · 05/11/2008 16:19

Mine broke while I was pushing Dd2 out, sprayed the m/w at the end of the bed

OrmIrian · 05/11/2008 16:21

3rd time round mine gushed. And then trickled on and off for hours . Trying to walk with an old towel between my legs was interesting.

But weren't they a bit yellow in Holby? Mine weren't like that.

mankyscotslass · 05/11/2008 16:22

I was in hospital overnight with a urine infection which irritated my uterus, starting contractions. These stopped, but I got up out of bed to go to the loo, and my waters went. My bed was beside the door, the wave hit the wall at the opposite end of the room! Everything was soaked.

bundle · 05/11/2008 16:30

he's a nurse consultant
i thought all staff had to wear nothing below elbows these days

LoveBeingAMummy · 07/11/2008 23:00

I thought it was way too yellow

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/11/2008 12:38

obv the baby will come in about 5mins!!!

unlike most 1st pregs when actually takes many more hours!!

DisasterArea · 08/11/2008 12:42

mark has done fairly well for himself considering a year ago he was an agency staff nurse.
he also manages to unload patiens from mbulances, work in all the wards and do operations too, while wearing his suit jacket, and managing all the hospital. i aspire to be just like him
i love holby, tis my favourite programme.

Fimbo · 12/11/2008 14:27

Do you think its the beginning of the end for Faye and Joseph? They are the most unlikely couple. Mind you Luke Roberts is gorgeous did you see him in S.A. and he was only wearing a t-shirt, ooh the muscles.

Poledra · 12/11/2008 14:36

So, who else was watching this saying 'C'mon Joseph, put the baby skin-to-skin with her!'. And why the hell was he telling her to pant when she'd already delivered the head? Sheesh!

Poledra · 12/11/2008 14:37

AND why did he faff about cutting the cord?? He could have just left it alone.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 12/11/2008 14:39

I felt for Joseph when he had to kneel in the flood!

rolledhedgehog · 13/11/2008 11:09

Not the most realistic birth was it? The waters were yellow. Looked like a huge wee.

mine went like Niagra (I was standing up, baby not engaged) - huge pop & gallons of fluid which continued to flow for about 45 minutes then just leaked.

lou33 · 13/11/2008 17:52

with dd1 my waters broke and gushed out whilst i was on the loo, and i started pushing at the same time

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2008 19:25

finally watched on 1 player

and i was right

was the quickest 1st birth in history

they were only in the lift for under an hour

needmorecoffee · 13/11/2008 19:28

never ever ever go in a lift in Holby when pregnant.

LynetteScavo · 13/11/2008 19:33

Poledra - you most certainly are not taking it to seriously - I was practicaly screaming at the screen when Joseph cut the cord - really- leave the bloody cord alone!

conkertree · 13/11/2008 20:18

I am watching it now - (shown later in Scotland) and am just wondering why they get Elliot involved - he starts talking about how much time they have - would have thought a midwife would be more useful than a Caridothorasic surgeon.

LynetteScavo · 13/11/2008 20:25

Becuase they weould have had to get another actor, and they had already paid Mr Hope.
