Still fab:
Windy Miller
Bod
Farmer Barleymow
The Wombles

Best forgotten:
Bagpuss (Oh don't care if you flame me...flea ridden bag)
Hamble (scary)
Bungle

If you live in pigeon street, here are the people you would meet...tra la...

King Rollo - definitely still fab

Now, the Smurfs, best forgotten...not sure, I'm sure my brother and I loved the smurfs although that's not necessarily a glowing recommendation...

Joolyjoolyjoo · 27/10/2008 22:27

Mr Ben was like James Bond for pre-schoolers!!
G-force (Battle of the Planets) were cool
Agree Windy Miller in his rumpety-tumpety baker's van was somehow an icon.
The flumps, Hong Kong Phooey and Captain caveman also legends
And the Littlest Hobo kicked Lassie's ass (well, not literally...)

But Prof Yaffle was a condescending windbag (although the mice were cute)
Jamie and his Magic torch were woeful
And the jury is out on the Trumpton firemen- there was just something a bit "cliquey" about them imo

DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:29

Sooty DEFINITELY best forgotten and that bossy bitch Sue but I liked Sweep!
Haven't seen modern Basil Brush, I'll have to take your word on that.

OP posts:
DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:29

LOL cliquey

notnowbernard · 27/10/2008 22:29

The Littlest Hobo... the theme tune used to make me cry

"Maybe tomorrow, I'll wanna settle down

Maybe tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on"

As he trots down a dusty road all alone

DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:31

My brother and I loved G-force! I saw it about 6 months ago...it was WOEFUL (great word)

OP posts:
frankbestfriend · 27/10/2008 22:33

How about Jonny Briggs

Joolyjoolyjoo · 27/10/2008 22:34

Ah, but that might be the NEW Battle of the Planets- which I agree is dire! The original, though, was superb! Princess and Mark- bit like Luke and Leia, somehow?? But the jealous snarling Jasomn never lived up to the wonderful Han Solo. And Tiny?? Les dawson look-a-like?? Where and how did he fit in with tese beautiful people?

I sound like a nut-case, now, don't I

bootlegger · 27/10/2008 22:34

loved:
barnaby the bear
mr ben
bagpuss's mice 'heeeeave'
parsley the lion
clangers
bod
'hugh, pugh, barley mcgrew, cuthbert, dibble and grub'
captain pugwash
wacky races - dastardly and muttly, penelope pitstop et al
hong kong phooey

loathed:
teddy edward - feck all ever happened
fingerbobs- aargh the 'prawn' fingers
pipkins- scary hartley and the nameless pig.
flumps- pointless
rentaghost- thespy bollox and they're 'resurrecting' it too soon.

Well that's carbon dated me

Lilyloo · 27/10/2008 22:34

ahh yes
'every step i take i make a new friend'
maybe tommorrow i'll wanna settle down until tommorrow i'll just keep moving on'
always shed a tear!!

DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:35

I don't remember that Jooly!

Wasn't a fan of Jonny Briggs.

OP posts:
notnowbernard · 27/10/2008 22:36

I loved Rentaghost!!!

DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:40

I liked rentaghost too!

Had completely forgotten about Penelope Pitstop 'Haaaaaaayeeelp'
'eughhhaaahhhaaaa, Penelope's gonna die'

Also the prawn finger from finger bobs I'll be having nightmares about that tonight...

bootlegger · 27/10/2008 22:42

frankbestfriend · 27/10/2008 22:42

The Mysterious Cities of Gold

Dogtanian and the 3 Muskahounds
DH has just admitted being unaturally fond of the pretty girl spaniel

nappyaddict · 27/10/2008 22:43

Rosie and Jim were my ultimate favourite.

Then Poppy from playdays and the why bird.

followed by the raggie dolls .. i think that's what it was called.

notnowbernard · 27/10/2008 22:44

Timothy Claypole, was it?

DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:44

OMG The mysterious Cities of Gold! My brother and I LOVED that!
Also the 80 days around the world (we'll find a pot of gold, just sitting where the rainbow's ended)...

OP posts:
DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:45

Oh and now we're moving on a bit, how about...

THUNDER, THUNDER, THUNDER CATS!

OP posts:
notnowbernard · 27/10/2008 22:45

Cities of Gold

it went on FOREVER, didn't it? like a million episodes or something

nappyaddict · 27/10/2008 22:45

oh yes ..

trumpton
mr ben
andy pandy
king rollo
hector
rainbow
sooty

DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:46

Did they ever find that damn city?!

OP posts:
DANCESwithLordPsGhost · 27/10/2008 22:46

By the power of Greyskull (not the mnetter by that name) I LOVED HeMan. SheRa sucked though.
