The ones I'd happily blow up are:

That bloody advert with the dancing car - in fact most car ads.

That Actamil one with the kid and his embarrassing mother.

The current Admiral one with various snotty crying teenagers blubbing about not being able to get cheap insurance because of being too young.

I'm sure there's more.

Otex eardrops - EWWWWWW!

SoupDragon · 07/02/2005 18:42

the bl*dy crazy frog and all other crp ringtone adverts.

Angeliz · 07/02/2005 18:43

The one with the mouthwash where she spits in the sink at the end and says, "hey, you're not seeing that"!!
(Told dp i won't buy it on principle of crapness of ad!!)

Any that say "hello moto"

Twiglett · 07/02/2005 18:45

I love that dancing car, I think is a superb bit of advertising

I also love the KFC singing one where the chicken burger is only 99p .. beautifully done

can't think of any I dislike atm .. there are loads though

noddyholder · 07/02/2005 18:47

the panda one

Twiglett · 07/02/2005 18:48

that claim for accidents one where its all done like an interrogation really gets my goat

NameChangingMancMidlander · 07/02/2005 18:49

Ringtones/mobile phone ads

Compo adverts (have you broken a nail in the past 500 years ? Well, there could be £1m in it for you....)

Patronising 'consolidation loan' ads. Especially the one where the woman says 'they're really helpful and don't babble you with science or whatever'. 'Babble you with science' ???

Yes car credit ads or other car supermarket ads.

lunavix · 07/02/2005 18:49

linda bloody barker

and also the wrong with the writing behind the wardrobe, and the guy interviewing the granny.. i forget what for.

Oh and the one about toenail fungi with the endless pictures of manky, think, yellow nails >gag

misdee · 07/02/2005 18:50

all accident advice line ones (or similar), all loan company ones (especially when advertised on kids channels), ring tone ads, even sweety the chick is bloomin annoying. in fact, getrid of all ads!!!!!

NameChangingMancMidlander · 07/02/2005 18:52

God sobernow, I have to turn that one over, and the ones asking me for money by various charities.

The radio version of the speeding ad is harrowing. I heard it in the car the other day. It starts off by saying 'This is what you hear when a child is hit at 40mph' and it's silence apart from birdsong. Then it says 'This is what you hear if you hit a child at 30mph' followed by the most harrowing soundtrack of a little child screaming and crying. It made me burst into tears at the wheel....

Amanda3266 · 07/02/2005 18:53

Love the Walls Sausages one where the dog leaps at the man carrying a plateful and they end up wrestling until finally the dog is chucked out the window. He meakes a leap back but the owner has shut the window and the ad ends with the dog sliding down the window outside. PMSL when that comes on.

Haven't seen/heard the speeding one yet.

misdee · 07/02/2005 18:56

the new speeding ad really upset me whern i first saw it, even now it makes me feel ill, i hope it has stopped some people speeding. another one that shocked me was the drink driving one whereb the lads are in the pub, and they see the blond lady eyeing them up and next thing you know the blond is across the pub in a mangled heap. totally shocking, and again i hope it worked.

NameChangingMancMidlander · 07/02/2005 18:58

Yep, they do seem to be going for shock tactics, but I suppose if it's the only thing that works....

I have to say that the speeding ad on the radio immediately had me looking down at my speedo, so they are effective. Although not sure how the tears affected my road awareness/safety

JanH · 07/02/2005 20:16

Quote me happy - "it's a hatchback" - AAAAAAAAAARGH!

TwoIfBySea · 07/02/2005 20:29

Consign to the bin:

All compensation lawyer ads

All car insurance (yet to see one that doesn't make me cringe. In particular "Diamond, DIAMOND, yes Diamond" argh!)

Loans, in particular those with the people pretending what "a weight off my shoulders" it was. They aren't there to do you a favour. Alvin Hall says never make an unsecured debt a secured one (i.e. homeowners only.)

Yes car credit, I know where they get their cars from. The ad is lies.

Anything that shows gross bits of bodies, ear wax, grotty toes, mouth gunk. I am not squeamish but really!

Any ad that thinks it is quirky and clever when it is so definitely not!

MistressMary · 07/02/2005 20:35

Actimel na na na na
Yak up ult
Quote me happy!
Frog on bike phone thing
I see you baby, shake your little ass....
Have you been involved in an accident that wasn't your fault?

Gwenick · 07/02/2005 20:37

That flipping Renault Megane (sp). The first 'verison' was bad enough with ONLY womens ar*ses, the 'new' on is supposedly better but still drives me round the bend - and don't watch it without the sound on or you'll want to throw something at the TV

Angeliz · 07/02/2005 20:41

NCMM, yes i heard that too, it's AWFUL but really makes you think.
I bloody hate speeders anyway

vict17 · 07/02/2005 20:41

any ad involving Linda Barker and Carol Vorderman
the one with the nodding dog for car insurance I think
any sanitary towel/tampax advert where the woman is doing outrageously energetic things when we all know we feel like shit when we've got a period and hid under the duvet instead of wearing figure hugging clothes!!

bamboo · 07/02/2005 20:48

Agree with Vict17 - anything with Carol Vordemann encouraging us to get into more debt.

Also the one where Matin Kemp is "made up to be the new face of SCS". I can just imagine him and Shirley sat in their luxury pad on SCS sofas ... not!

sparklymieow · 07/02/2005 21:23

I hate the Vauxhall ads with the little kids acting as adults "we had five in here last week and I'm still finding crumbs" make me want to hit them!!!

HunkerMunker · 07/02/2005 21:25

Off topic a bit, but did you know that megane is pronounced me-ga-ne in Japanese and means spectacles
