He looked every inch M. de la Suisse romande.

I loved the footage of his arrival on the private jet.

God, soooooooooo Swiss!

expatinscotland · 07/07/2008 18:47

Needless to say, being of Latin American decent, I prefer a man who demonstrates a bit more . . . erm, passion.

A bit of masculinity is attractive, too .

zippitippitoes · 07/07/2008 18:47

well i have absolutely no ointerest in tennis and have never watched a wimbledon final

saw the start of this in a pub ion london with bf and a couple of pints as he did the 10k run in the am

then while it rained we went back to south london and went to bed and had the rest on and i can say that it was brilliant and the tennis, tho found the commentary hilarious...i have rrely enjoyed myself as much lol

what's hte purse for the runner-up, anyhow?

TheFallenMadonna · 07/07/2008 19:04

Oh no expat. I like the pent-up passion. So much more satisfying to release.

tortoiseSHELL · 07/07/2008 19:38

Controlled passion is the way. Always. Much much sexier.

expatinscotland · 07/07/2008 19:48

Fed's boring as hell. Like I said, I hope we see more of the feisty Fed of last night.

That was great! It was good to see the Spaniard bring it out in him, it was always there, lurking, it's that bit of Latin spark.

TheFallenMadonna · 07/07/2008 19:49

Oh expat- he's a beautiful player. That isn't dull at all.

expatinscotland · 07/07/2008 19:57

I find him dull. Like Sampras. Icy and predictable.

Except for last night - whoa! Nadal brought out the best in him - shouting 'Shut Up!' at the fans, challenging points, rolling his eyes at the chair ref when Nadal bounced that ball for ages yet again, grunting, straining.

It was a whole new side of Fed, and a better one, if you ask me .

naswm · 07/07/2008 19:59

is this thread still going?

I cant cope with another night like last night, the tension is just too great lol

He is nothing like Sampras. He is wonderful to watch.

I guess I just can't be doing with too much testosterone on display

expatinscotland · 07/07/2008 20:09

Oh, yeah, he's a lot like Sampras. He's even going to go for Sampras's record of 14 Grand Slam titles. He'll probably break it, too, if he keeps playing like Sampras.

But not if Nadal keeps winding him up, although that's far more entertaining .

naswm · 07/07/2008 20:14

did someone mention Nadal?

He plays such a beautiful game - it really is beautiful to watch. And he is infinitely attractive on the court. Off court he's lovely, on court unbelieveable. Imo.

noddyholder · 07/07/2008 22:12

As mcenroe said he is the baryshnikoc(SP)of tennis

noddyholder · 07/07/2008 22:13

kov not koc freudian slip

OllieWollieWoo · 08/07/2008 07:30

Did anyone else smile whenever Fed's girlfriend's name was mentioned? I don't know why the name Mirka tickles me but it does! God I'm sad!

cariboo · 08/07/2008 12:16

Players who grunt for every single bloody shot drive me mad. Nadal looked a shambles with that sleeveless top - yuck! & the pedal-pushers that are too tight (he keeps pulling them out of his crack - dh calls him the bum-scratcher), totally unflattering. When Nadal ran across the roof to kissywissy everyone, I rather hoped he'd fall through. The worst offense imo was biting the trophy like some kind of pirate. Crass. But yes, he's a fantastic tennis player & yes, he did deserve to win. After Roland Garos, I thought Federer was toast but he actually did a great job pulling himself back.

Rant over.
