Hi 👋 I loved the first two episodes.
I didn’t expect such big names - unlike something like Strictly in recent years. I like having the comedians and I like it is usually more lighthearted/ friendlier than the civilian version. Most of them seem to have prepared well though and are very clued up. However, I like that some (Richard!) are not and are having a super fresh approach. I don’t agree it shows how clever or not he is. He is genuinely just playing how sees fit at the moment.
All day, on the first day, he has been telling people he wants to be a traitor so when later asked if he WAS a traitor it seemed logical to stay in character and say he was - he did consider it before saying it for a few seconds, imo. He probably thought being provocative and mischievous is the way to go, but also didnt expect all the players to suddenly take it so seriously.
I think his mistake was really being so vulnerable with his fellow traitor and leaving important decisions to her. Those decisions all pointed further to him. At the round table he looked quite sad when Maya joined the ‘may be it is R’ bandwagon, and no attempt to deflect.
Maya’s got excellent personality and is very chilled but I don’t think that’s enough to make her a good traitor. I think she was genuinely trying to help Richard but she only tought one move ahead - she had an opportunity to make it more chaotic and less obvious that they are covering Richard.
Hannah is wonderful but the way she spoke at the round table makes her 100% target. If you’re one of two up for murder you keep quiet! If by some chance she is not murdered everybody will think it odd and banish her.
Acaster I liked more than expected. Very observant, very careful what he says, and not a liar or manipulative.
When Bella and LeighAnn were saying that they also wanted to be a traitor - I didn’t get their point at all as to how that proves that Richard is a traitor. I’m sure there’s something there, but didn’t think either of them speaks clearly and convincingly.
The Irish actress is going to be one of the faithfuls that stays till the end because she defends traitors, isn’t she. She was telling Romesh he is 100% not a traitor because he wouldn’t be good at it, and telling Richard he is definitely not one because it would be too obvious - very black and white thinking, very assured of her own judgment.
All the other ones that were speaking made very good points and made it an interesting viewing.
