They will have to speed up the disposal rate or we'll have too many left at the end. Which suggests not much banishing Traitors because then they recruit instead of murdering. Of course they could change that or have a mass murder I suppose.

With a murder and a banishment each episode (generally) they do whittle them down pretty quickly.

StrawberryStreet · Today 08:06

I'm new to this thought I'd give it a go as it gets so much publicity and yes I do kind of like it. Claudia is brilliant and the sets and scenery all fabulous but the missions are a bit easy aren't they? Scrape a bit of soil from the top of a box and free them? Or do they get more complex as the game progresses?

And fgs change the conversation a bit! I know it's what it's all about but every scene is 'are you a traitor? I think he's a traitor' rinse and repeat. Yes only 2 eps and as I say I'm a tentative fan but does the game develop or is this it?

Gutted for Hannah. I’d love to see a scenario where they keep her. But I think they’ll want an analytic thinker gone.
id had high hopes of Jerry being entertaining but she’s really let me down. I was actually cheering for the celebs to dig people out more slowly so that hannah had a chance!

That was a manipulative episode. It's obviously loaded to keep the Traitors and dispose of the Faithfuls.

However I do hope that Richard G is banished.

As to the Traitors having to make a choice between Hannah and Jerry, that's the manipulative bit. In a twist. Goodnight Hannah.

No one thanked Hannah for pairing up with Jerry. It was obvious that she was going to cry the safe word.

Hannah was the hero. Totally sacrificed herself.

To be fair they paired up before they knew what the mission was or that a safe word might be necessary. Not to take anything away from Hannah though, she was absolutely gracious. And whoever said about Ross Kemp (full name at all times) actually decreasing the murder pool, good spot but I don’t think he was thinking strategically more just trying to get people out of a horrible hole in the ground.
@JudgeJ I believe they get a flat rate no matter how long they stay - they don’t get anything extra for winning, just the money for their charity of their choice. Which is one of the things that makes the celebrity one different from the normal one - the normal ones are really keen to increase the prize and then they want to win it. I’m sure celebrities are very keen on their charity, and they to win because they’re all competitive people, but it’s not the same.

cloudtreecarpet · Today 08:24

I think if this was ordinary Traitors that task would have worked better because getting the money would have been more of a motivation. Also might have been a better game to use later on, they are still trying to be nice to each other at this stage.

And if it were ordinary Traitors keeping Hannah in for now might make sense because she will be good at the tasks, especially if they involve puzzles, and thus adding to the prize pot.
But in the Celeb version where the money is less important they might ditch her because she's seen as a clever threat and good at outing Traitors.
I hope she doesn't go but I think she will. Shame, I would have loved her as a recruited Traitor.

Richard E Grant has done a rubbish job of defending himself! I would have just been laughing and saying "Don't be daft, course I'm not, I'm not that stupid, ha ha" etc whereas he looks awkward and tries to explain his mistake away in a too-serious way.
Great TV though and an absolute gift to the producers who must have loved it!

CaveMum · Today 08:24

I can see a scenario where Hannah survives, but it depends on whether (if Richard goes) Maya and James are prepared not to over analyse things. The obvious choice is to go for Hannah, she said herself at the table that so far all of the moves have been “obvious” because the Traitors are not confident.

I’d love to see a game where the Traitors leave it all to chance so that there’s no pattern to the murders, eg today we murder the first person to speak at breakfast, tomorrow we’ll pick someone who wears green, etc. Keep it truly random and watch the Faithful’s heads explode! I know there are some days where they are forced to pick from a shortlist/group but then just toss a coin.

It's a brilliant show so stick with it.
I thought the first mission was great and the second had a dark element to it and was physically rather than mentally demanding.
Some tasks are more like puzzles to solve, others are simple but physical like last night. Last night's wasn't great because they aren't motivated by getting money, it would have been way better in the ordinary show where more devious planning would have been involved & some people would have been left underground.

You would be better to watch an ordinary Traitors series alongside this to get the real flavour of the game, the Celeb one just isn't the same although it's entertaining in its own right.

And, yes, they only show the chat about who is/isn't a Traitor because that is the game. But it's very addictive and can be hilarious when people are on entirely the wrong track.

AlwaysExtraHot · Today 08:53

Maybe they’ll keep Hannah because she keeps drawing attention to Leigh-Anne and so away from the traitors?

MrsLargeEmbodied · Today 08:55

quite rightly Amol was cringing on uncloaked.

just about to listen to him on R4

They don't know it was her though do they, because she wasn't the one who raised it at the roundtable?

I'm actually surprised so many of them have believed Richard, because if I was in there I'd be going "it can't be him because the traitors aren't allowed to say they're traitors!"

MrsLargeEmbodied · Today 09:00

not so humble today!

Madcats · Today 09:14

Just heard Amol on R4 (last 5 mins)ish) of the Today Programme). Apparently all the contestants were on a lively Whatsapp chat last night. I wonder whether their families know the outcome?

With the challenges, there are several elements. Complete it and raise as much money as possible is one. There's also the chance of Faithfuls being able to save themselves from being a target for murder that night. If the Traitors want to murder somebody, they need to manipulate the game in such a way that the Faithful(s) they want to murder can't protect themselves from it. Trouble with doing that, is that the Traitors can give themselves away by their actions. If Ross or Romesh had been a Traitor, then they might have decided to go for the money first and not dig everybody up, which would have given them a larger pool of Faithfuls to murder. Since they were both Faithfuls, they decided to save everyone first, then go for the money. But the Faithfuls might think that it was purposely done to prevent suspicion...

TwoDrifters2 · Today 09:37

Joanne really irritated me because she totally stole Hannah’s “makeup theory” about Leigh-Anne and presented it as her own at the round table.

Someone even said to her something like “Oh well spotted!” and she just accepted it, not even crediting Hannah with being the one who had actually seen it happen and made deductions from it.

Namechangewegovyjune26 · Today 09:40

I thought Jerry might have more heat for saying “Haggis”

GobbolinoAndSootica · Today 09:40

Not sure the Traitors have any strategic thinking. Surely they should have selected Ross and Someone as the two, with the already set plan to bump off Ross - which would have put suspicion on Bella (who's one of the astute faithfuls).

No hope for the "it's too obvious" faithfuls. How on earth could so dozy Dora quite literally saying they were a Traitor not be too obvious?

BillStickersIsInnocent · Today 09:41

Hannah did say not to say it was her make-up theory, in the car on the way back from the mission.

Hannah had specifically asked her not to tell anyone she said it as she is at risk - but it was still weird how she said it and Hannah didn’t look impressed 🤣

BillStickersIsInnocent · Today 09:42

I would murder Jerry and keep Hannah in, because she will likely get banished the following night anyway. I feel for her, she’s great and could have gone far I think.

The missions are almost always the dullest bit when everyone goes to the loo or makes a cup of tea. I mean, it will tell you a lot that easily the most memorable bit of a mission in last year’s Celebrity Traitors is when Celia Imrie farted when they were all locked in a cabin!

Wouldn't hold that against Joanna. Hannah told her she didn't want anyone knowing it came from her, so Joanna was simply following that wish through.

Yes exactly this. Hannah didn't want it known as her theory.

TwoDrifters2 · Today 09:48

@BillStickersIsInnocent @Namechangewegovyjune26 @GobbolinoAndSootica

Ah fair enough if that’s what Hannah meant.

I thought Hannah was sharing her suspicions with a circle of trust in the car, in case she ended up going, but didn’t want anyone to bring it up publicly at all since she was already in the firing line.

I didn’t realise she wanted those suspicions out there, just not credited to her.

They made a choice there whether to save people or collect money. They only got half the money they could have. In the non celebrity version they would probably have prioritised the money

Other missions can include shields which provide you with immunity from murder, so again tests your team spirit

I hope Jerry goes.

(Does anyone remember when she was on Strictly and she did the bare minimum of dance practice? She's not a team player)

Yes I had that exact thought. She turned up, collected her fee, put in minimum effort so she could get booted out as soon as possible. She's not contributing much here either, lazy cow.
