I managed to close off the last thread without realising and couldn’t see a new one, so here you go!

Yes, it’s not going well on the men’s side. Sascha must fancy his chances of a second slam. I know Carlos is still in but will his wrist hold up to it? I hope so.

Apparently, Sascha is the first top seed in a GS to be taken to 5 sets in his first two rounds.

I see Kyrgios has somehow only received a 1 month ban for taking cocaine, meaning he's already served his ban!!! Surely he should be ranting that it's too lenient, given what he's said about other players (who received longer bans!).

I’d be shocked if Sascha wins it. His draw has collapsed but getting into 5 set tussles in early rounds isn’t a sign of someone in slam winning form. I’m hoping for Carlos but not sure he’ll make it either. I could see one of the Americans finally winning, probably Fritz or Shelton, or maybe Daniil shocks everyone.

I hope we don't hear anything from him at all. It's hardly likely to be the first time he's been using, and I doubt he will stop. He needs to just retire and get lost already.

Sascha may fancy his chances, but he will have to play a lot better than he has or he will be knackered by the end of the second week.

I would really like Daniil to win a second title I think. He's not been in the conversation much- the media have been very focused on Carlos and his comeback. This could be a good chance for Daniil. He plays Rinderknech today though- and that might be a tough one, given Arthur's love of 5 set epic matches.

I don't think we can count out Carlos- he mightt very well make it through the tournament. Whether he is able to play the rest of the year though, who knows.

I can’t believe that Kyrgios has been cleared to play already - not that he was troubling the draws much anyway - it seems very much like double standards!

I also can’t see Sascha winning - he’s spent so long on court already - I’m also not sure about Alcaraz - it’s a big ask to win a GS after being away for so long

Danill has been getting through his matches efficiently but playing Rinderknech could be a different matter

I think the US players feel the pressure of being at a home slam and sometimes the nerves get to them - so overall I’ve no idea who’s going to win

Raahh I saw a video clip the other day when Stef was asked about Dick. He said he knew about it before it became public and implied it wasn't the first time Kyrgios had taken hard drugs. From memory, I think he said something along the lines of.....I'm surprised it's taken this long for him to test positive/be caught.

I also have no idea who might win on the men's side I'm not sure I would be surprised if Carlos won, given his talent, despite his long injury lay-off. And he'll be a lot fresher than most of the other players.

The Kyrgios thing makes me so cross. So he and Marketa both make an error of judgement and she gets four years and he gets... one month. I just don't want to hear from him ever again.

I missed the end of the match-it really is amazing what Sorana has done this year, she is now ranked 15 in the live ranking- her highest ever. Crazy , considering she is going to retire. Or maybe, knowing she is retring is the thing giving her the freedom to just throw everything she has at matches.

Sky is doing my head in with the RB constantly freezing. I want Prime to take the tennis back!

It seems like a long time ago that we complaining about Amazon taking over, and the camera angles being rubbish- but I really miss Prime's tennis coverage.

They learned from their mistakes but Sky never does

No- Prime got so much better. Sky just gets worse- and doesn't care, because they know that whenever anyone else takes over, coverage invariably goes back to them when contracts re-new. .
