Anyone else watching? I started it because I saw a Guardian review that described it as the most feminist show on TV...

I'm enjoying it so far - although slightly distracted by the serial killer because I associate her so strongly with the IRA character she played in a different show 🤔

I watched the first 2 episodes yesterday. I thought it was really well written and acted.

Yes it's odd seeing Lola Petticrew without her usual Belfast accent! Although I think I heard it leaking through a couple of times ..

throwawayimplantchat · 31/07/2026 11:18

I’m absolutely loving it, impatient for the next episode already!

Sturmundcalm · 31/07/2026 14:56

Yes, have just finished the third episode and now regretting not waiting till there were more episodes available!!

The whole cast seems incredibly strong.

I really wanted to like this, but I have given up after 2 episodes. It's so bleak and sad. I can't do that level of darkness in 2026.

OttersOnAPlane · 04/08/2026 21:05

I'm really enjoying it (if 'enjoy' is the right word).
I want to smack Alice's ex and frigging Choi in the face with a skillet. The sheer obtuseness is hard to bear, but so realistic.

Crinkle77 · 05/08/2026 17:25

I've watched the first episode. I'm intrigued enough to watch another. Is it just me or does Catherine remind you of Villanelle?

LobeliaBaggins · 05/08/2026 17:32

Yes, Catherine is a bit like Villanelle, but without her sass. Also lacks the humour of Killing Eve.
I don't really like that all the women except Nora are victims of abuse, and all the men except Alice's partner are abusers.

Crinkle77 · 06/08/2026 14:48

Actually after watching episode 2 she's definitely not as smart as Villanelle. She forgot that Oliver might recognise her tattoo. Nor is she as likeable as Villanenelle who I loved despite being an assassin. But there is a similar vibe to them.

mrstambourinewoman · 06/08/2026 15:07

Really wanted to like this , but just didn’t believe her as the character at all and it was way too distracting.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 08/08/2026 09:16

Thanks for the reminder 👍 my addled brain can't handle waiting for episodes to drop every week, because I clean forget, no matter how brilliant it is - and it is.

Definitely getting Killing Eve vibes , only I find this one slightly more compassionate.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 08/08/2026 23:58

I was/am really enjoying this but the getting smacked around and liking it element is bothering me.

HelenHywater · 09/08/2026 00:09

yes I'm quite enjoying it although to start with I thought it was just another villanelle/female serial kiler type trope and was going to give up on it (as being less good, less humorous, than Killing Eve), but I'm enjoying it more now.

The men are all awful (with the exception of her cop friend, who will probably end up being awful) and I I like that the female mentor women is also very flawed. I'm starting to feel more sympathetic towards the Lola Pettigrew character now too - she clearly isn't just a pyschopath. Although she reminds me of the actress who plays Moaning Myrtle in Harry Potter.

(also started watching it because the Guardian gave it a glowing review).

I have watched 6 episodes so far . Easily confused - but thought it only had 6 episodes . Checked and it has 8 - with last episode airing from 31 August 26. Explains why it didn’t seem to have reached a conclusion …

Thoughts so far - am liking it . Love the characters and the acting is good . Enjoy the interplay between the FBI and the cops . Interesting backstory for the characters - but slightly cliched in that the detectives are all portrayed as troubled / complex . Also with the rookie Agent going above and beyond her role .

Enjoyed seeing Rob Delaney as haven’t seen him in anything since Catastrophe .

My only gripe is that it is a bit long and drags on in parts , when I do think it could be more gripping . I like the premise and I am interested in the characters and want to know more of their back stories .

No word yet on whether there will be a second series although the show runner has indicated that she would be keen to have more series .

Ah glad more episodes are being released weekly. I thought there were only 5 episodes and thought that was the end of the series 🤣 I enjoyed episodes 4 & 5, they were better then first 3. Is Alice trying to set up her ex, get him drunk, get him to hit her so she can get him done for it as payback for last time. Or is the big twist that she liked it rough and in the past when they were in a relationship did she get him to hit her and then she falsely accused him for some reason??? Or am I reading far too much in to it.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 21/08/2026 00:43

Just watched episode 6. Totally gripping. Can’t wait for the next one.

tennissquare · 25/08/2026 20:50

Really enjoying this show, 7 episodes are now out and final 1 on Monday so good for a bank holiday weekend binge.
Lola Petticrew is excellent but agree I associate her with Say Nothing and Trespasses - I can’t wait to see what she does next. Rob Delaney stars too.

Lottapianos · 25/08/2026 21:36

I think it's getting better every episode. Lots of incredibly sad stuff this week about how human trafficking can ruin every single life that it touches. Really well written and performed all round

Sturmundcalm · 25/08/2026 22:12

i'm actually saving the last three to watch closer together - can't cope with weekly gaps cause my memory is so crap!

Found episode 7 really good and didn’t seem to drag in parts as some of the earlier episodes did .

Couldn’t place the actor who plays Danny . I knew I had seen him in something before . Checked the actor - Scoot McNairy ( love his name ) was in “Halt and Catch Fire “.It was hailed as a Mad Men set at the start of the computing industry .

I don’t know if anyone watched it . I enjoyed it and it had some great characters but was never really popular although did seem to be liked by the critics .

His real life partner is Kevin Bacon’s daughter .

I really like Danny’s character and there is a strong friendship between him and Alice with hints that there may be something more . With some of the revelations in this episode ( trying not to put spoilers ) it doesn’t look like true love will run smoothly . I almost hope that if there are future series that they don’t get together .

Looking forward to the finale next week . I think Disney just confuses everyone re the number of episodes . As it is now showing as series 1 , - 7 episodes . For every other platform ( I think) they show the total number of episodes in the series - where Apple shows the number of episodes available to watch right now - rather than the total .

tennissquare · 27/08/2026 22:51

Furious has been renewed for a second series today - it’s very unusual for Hulu/Disney to make a decision this early and before the finale of season 1 has aired. Can’t wait to watch it on Monday.

Great news .

RancidRuby · 28/08/2026 16:55

Glad it’s got a second series. I’ve no idea what direction they’ll take it in though, as it seems like Catherine’s story is about to be wrapped up one way or another.

tennissquare · 28/08/2026 17:50

I guess it will be an FBI / Cop show, Emmy Rossum made a little reel on her IG. I’m sure Lola Petticrew is going to have an amazing movie career.

RancidRuby · 28/08/2026 18:31

Yes I think fbi/cop show too, I was more just musing whether they’d continue with the current theme of furious women or whether it will be something entirely different.

TheAmazingShrinkingWoman · 28/08/2026 18:36

I'm still laughing at the wheelchair arrest scenes. Really tickled me!
