Is anyone watching the 3rd series.

I was really looking forward to it but am totally unengaged.

Or rather confused. I keep thinking I must have missed an episode.

It is of course not the same as the first series at all, and quite different from series 2.

Although I have found the thread about series 2 and I see I predicted that I wasn't sure about what might be the direction of series 3.

Yea I’m a bit confused to and also thought I must have missed an episode. Suddenly parts of the silo seem ultra modern when it was all pretty gritty before. And wasn’t the Harriet Walker character afraid to leave her own rooms? She seems to have gotten over that phobia.

I sort of understand or assume the modern bit is to explain how everyone ened up in Silos but i just find it boring Blush

But you are right about the Harriet Walter character.

It feels like from the end of series 2 when she successfully got back to her home Silo that series 3 it is some time later in the Silo.

Confused

It’s very odd. The character that we’ve been following as smart and capable is now completely neutered. Tim Robbins who was great is dead and replaced by a computer. And the main thing is now these memory wiping medications and nothing about cleaning or the other silos. Not sure where it’s going.

Thanks, that sort of explains to me why I am confused or rather just feel it has become about something else!

I've yet to watch season 3 but have read the books! Has it gone back in time to explain why and how the Silos were created?

I think this is what the new strand is. But as I said up thread, I am finding that so boring not really following the details.

I've read the books and I think they have diverged massively.

I've not read the books, but I do really like this show. Agree that the first few episodes were slow, but the last one was really good and it is much like older episodes in other series. I think as usual, it's getting interesting in the later episodes.

IwantToRetire · 05/08/2026 19:00

I've stopped watching it but was thinking maybe when all episodes are available I will try a binge watch and see it that helps!

We always wait now until all episodes are available to watch for all programmes. We hate waiting week by week and will binge watch a series over a weekend.

TessTickle0 · 07/08/2026 08:02

A binge watch does definitely help with enjoyment
I would probably have given up by now but watch with partner and he didnt want to.
We both thought the last episode was better.

IwantToRetire · 07/08/2026 18:02

Agree I started binge watching when I realised that in fact week by week was pointless. I would spend the first half of a new episode trying to remember what happened in the last episode, and then the second half realising because I had been trying to remember hadn't really followed plot developments in current episodes!
