Is anyone watching the 3rd series.

I was really looking forward to it but am totally unengaged.

Or rather confused. I keep thinking I must have missed an episode.

It is of course not the same as the first series at all, and quite different from series 2.

Although I have found the thread about series 2 and I see I predicted that I wasn't sure about what might be the direction of series 3.

Wow- that was amazing. I would go so far as to say my favourite episode of the show so far as it answered so many of the questions and also set things up for a v exciting final season.

it did feel funny how dramatic it got after whole lot of quite slow,
albeit interesting, story build up.

the big reveal about how some of the main characters from different timelines come together is just brilliant.

the trailer at end for season 4 was also fab. Roll on summer 2027.

youngestisapsycho · 04/09/2026 22:33

Oh I didn’t see the trailer! Will go back and watch

youngestisapsycho · 04/09/2026 22:44

I have a question… but will wait till others have watched…

DuncinToffee · 05/09/2026 08:37

I watched it last night. Didn't expect that and Troy. Great episode.

BG2015 · 05/09/2026 11:41

Loved the last episode! Can’t wait for season 4

whistlesandbells · 05/09/2026 16:51

Loved the most recent episode so much although it is a tough watch! Answered so many questions too. DH and I have been talking about it all day, on and off, speculating and asking questions about this and that. It is great 📺!

LibraRising · 05/09/2026 19:09

Oh I didn’t know there was a thread for Silo! We watched the last episode last night. The trailer for Season 4 looks amazing.

DH has bought the books, he’s only halfway thru the first and he says for the most part so far the show is true to the book.

Sorry to say I was disappointed.

Thought to watch it was quite gripping but so many gaping holes in the contemporary (or in terms of Silo) past era.

No explanation as to why having planned to set up silos to have humans as seeds for the future, those in charge then set about creating all these rules etc..

Unless I missed a bit. But did they have some theory about how to control those living in a confined space etc..

I think I would almost have preferred if it turned out to be some aliens were conducting an experiment on humans.

And how come the Open Day for the silos was the day the atom bomb or whatever went off. Did those behind the Project set it off?

From the trailer of next year I wasn't too interested in the emphasis being between those in control and those in the Silo. Would like it to go back to making contact with other Silos and how they had coped.

Really enjoyed that.

You can google the synopsis of the books and that will answer your questions. I've joined a couple of Facebook groups who have a dozen different wild theories about what's going on.

One of them says that Juliette is Troy's granddaughter but the Silos are 350 years into a 500 year old experiment so that can't be true.

Rollergirl11 · 06/09/2026 09:49

Also found the first 3 episodes incredibly boring but on episode 5 now and has deffo picked up the pace. Struggling to understand why they haven’t worked out how to invent lightbulbs!

Also watching Dark Matter and can’t remember out of Jason 1 and 2, who is good. 🫣

DuncinToffee · 06/09/2026 10:03

The Pact is the rule book on how to live underground for 500 years without killing each other. It was actually written by AI. Anna told Helen about in e9

I think the open day and bomb were planned for the same time. All visitors were carefully selected and had to go to the right silo. They were supposed to have the meal when the bomb exploded. So safe inside and getting their memories wiped.

Juliette is likely to be a descendant from Daniel and Helen, the pez being a heirloom.

No idea why the founders planned it all like this.

Jason 2 is the guy who invented the cube and kidnapped Jason 1. Jason 1 is now back with his wife and son.

I did in fact later on google and an offer from AI to summarise the books for me! Which I refused.

But I think it is more that I didn't want it to be about this. I wanted it to be aliens had come to rescue humans from destroying themselves and then everything went a bit wrong - or something! And liked the idea I had that some how the Silos would all link up and free themselves Hmm

However, without saying anyone has built any silos, IRL many of the tech bros have bought land - mainly in poorer countries - where they have set up self ruling "states". ie that in fact they think or know they are part of destroying the planet and want their very own little escape resorts. (Only found out about this on a BBC world service programme about some long complicated legal battle between one of these start up tech bro states and the country they had chosen to do this.)

No aliens - just humans!

Mathsbabe · 06/09/2026 16:44

Season 1 of Dark Matter was similar to Sliders but Season 2 is much better.

endofthecorridoor · 06/09/2026 17:05

I stopped watching this after they went to the new silo thing. It’s going on and on with no explanation and constant cliffhangers. Like that one where they are all at work but forget when they leave. I am NOT getting into this shit again it’s a waste of time and lazy storytelling.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 06/09/2026 17:30

I found series 3 a bit slow to begin with. The last few episodes though were fantastic!! Really enjoyed them.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 09/09/2026 07:58

It's really interesting to read various different views on Silo! Personally I've really enjoyed season 3, especially the last 2 episodes. I did find some of the earlier before times parts a bit slow at times, but still liked them.

I'm absolutely fine with cliffhangers and still not knowing many things - I have a couple of friends who also watch and we like to discuss what happened each week and speculate on what might happen next. There's a whole season still to come so I feel it's expected that we still have unanswered questions, as they will be answered in the final season.

dontcookwontcook · 09/09/2026 10:11

I was bored during s2 but really enjoyed s3. Though I have the billionaire, bunker builder that no one knows about storyline a bit far fetched. But overall really enjoyed it. I’m excited for s4 now which I didn’t feel coming into this one.
also agree that I think silo needs to be binge watched and not weekly episodes.

Iloveagoodnap · 09/09/2026 17:55

It annoys me when characters are evil and do truly awful things and then turn good and are immediately forgiven.
