We've been going since 2014 and have watched numerous other series as well as Our Girl. We're currently on the second series of Last Tango in Halifax and are enjoying it immensely!

So Eddie tried to commit suicide but when Gillian found him, he wasn't yet dead. She didn't call the ambulance immediately and finished him off with a block of wood. No wonder she is such a mixed up character.
