The Our Girl Addicts Thread 80

We've been going since 2014 and have watched numerous other series as well as Our Girl. We're currently on the second series of Last Tango in Halifax and are enjoying it immensely!

Oh dear this is really deep now as Alan has held this in his mind for years and it pains him great,y

Rhubarb01 · 10/06/2026 21:57

Gillian's version is that she didn't call an ambulance and Alan's is that she killed him.

Rhubarb01 · 10/06/2026 21:58

All of this will be going in John's book.

Rhubarb01 · 10/06/2026 21:59

Gillian is a bit of an idiot. Messed up but still a bit of an idiot.

Exactly.
And next week’s looks a right bundle of laughs.

Magi84 · 10/06/2026 22:00

Well that episode was even more involved than ever and I honestly didn’t think that was possible. Such a mixture of problems and incidents. Really keeping us enthralled. See you all next week

Rhubarb01 · 10/06/2026 22:03

Well, there was so much going on there, but I suppose you never really know what is festering away beneath the surface of seemingly happy and straightforward situations.

Much to learn next week. See you all then. Have a good week Smile

If anyone wants to watch the England match on Wednesday, I'm happy to do the watchalong another night. Not bothered personally but happy to go with the flow.

eejit were you up watching Scotland in the middle of the night.

I went to bed as normal, telling myself that, if I woke in time, I’d get up and watch. I woke at 3am, and decided to go back to sleep. Didn’t want to jinx it 😁

I'm happy to carry on with the watchalong tomorrow. I will probably just put the football on in the background with the volume down. It's only the first half anyway, and I never hold out too much hope as it's usually a bit disappointing or perhaps the expectations are always too high to start with plus it's blooming hot there at the moment...wouldn't catch me running around for 90 minutes in a heatwave Grin

Magi84 · 17/06/2026 18:02

I am quite happy to be watching LTIH while the England match is on. I will have in the room with me my own football critic giving a running commentary that I will be frantically trying to ignore. Any match against Croatia in the World Cup is considered England’s bête noir.

Rhubarb01 · 17/06/2026 20:58

Evening all...ready for kick off? It's certainly been kicking off at Gillian's farm...goodness knows what will happen this week.

Ilovelblue · 17/06/2026 20:58

It's been a rough day for me as I had to have my beautiful cat put to sleep - the one who always came to sit on the laptop. He was 18 almost but it happened so quickly I was in shock most of the afternoon. If I fall asleep, that will be why.

My energy supplier gives 2 hours free electric on each of the England or Scotland matches so I have just put a big wash on to take advantage.

Oh sad to hear that. 18 is a good age though and you can rest happy he knew you loved him

Commiserations. My cats send their love.

I'm so sorry to hear that ilove. It's just so horrible to have to say goodbye to your pets who are such a part of your life. I hope that in time you'll just think of all the happy moments.

It is, it was his time to go but he hadn't been ill but had either been hit by a car or maybe chased by a dog then had cut himself very badly.

Alan relives the night Gillian's husband died.

OP posts:
Rhubarb01 · 17/06/2026 21:04

Did I mishear last week, or did Gillian actually finish her husband off?

It sounds as if she did but I missed that too.

Raff comes home to find John looking after the baby (as yet nameless).

OP posts:
eejittwo · 17/06/2026 21:06

And John’s here.

Rhubarb01 · 17/06/2026 21:06

Raff is suspicious and would like to see the back of John, I think.
