Sky Atlantic added to package - any recommendations?

IwantToRetire · 02/04/2026 21:47

Sky Atlantic has been added to my VM package.

Does anyone who alreay have this channels have any recommendations.

I've already seen the Last of Us.

I've watched one episode of Dune Prophecy, which may be good, but sounds like everyone was standing behind a thick blanket while being recored (often happens with films though less likely tv )

Under Salt March - never heard of it ...

All Her Fault - not heard of this either ...

Ligas - nor this one ...

Only mentioning these are they are being shown over the weekend.

But as i have wanted to re-watch the Wire, may just start with that.

Thanks for any responses, suggestions.

Is Succession still on Sky Atlantic? It's great.

Thanks for that.

Website says Sky Go (?) but when I am back near tv will check listings for Sky Atlantic.

I kept hearing about it, but never saw it.

White Lotus

BridgetJonesV2 · 02/04/2026 22:07

Don't bother with under salt marsh or all her fault, both are heinously bad!
I love Chicago Med and Chicago Fire so watch both of these regularly.
The Lockerbie series with Colin Firth is incredibly good. Also loved Day of the Jackal.

Babylon Berlin (if it's still there).

I noticed tonight that I have Sky Atlantic too! I heard it was coming but didn't think I would get it with my package so I am delighted! I've got Netflix added too but I knew that. So, nothing to add but following with interest.

NedsAtomicWheelieBin · 03/04/2026 01:06

It doesn't look like you can view old shows though, just what is on now so can't view for example Mare of East Town or older series of White Lotus. Is that right?

Yes, I got myself over excited.

I look up Succession and the Wire and they are not "on demand". Each series would be £25 so with one 4 series long and one 6 that would be £100 - £150, so may as subscribe.

Sad

So will just have to watch out for series being broadcase and record and build up my own library.

Thanks for info about other shows.

At least this will help me with what to record and what not to bother with.

I am not sure how long this channel being added to VM packages will last, but shouldn't moan too much as I am not being charged for it.

Sometimes I wish there was just one big streaming company which had all tv series made.

And then depending on whether you have a basic, mid price, rich price you can just watch a specified number of series.

Have found the 3 month offers on other streaming services a good option, but dont think I have every seem Sky offer anthing like that.

A good aspect of this channel seems to be that they broadcast series in chunks, so its not like recoring something week after week.

Shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth - whatever that means.

NOW Tv offers the Sky programmes, you could try that if you want the older series. I have that alongside VM, it’s reasonably priced for just TV (not films) and when you go to cancel they give good offers to stay. Will check though if I now have Sky Atlantic on VM, suspect not as I’m on cheapest offering.

REDB99 · 03/04/2026 09:07

Mare of East Town is a must!

Succession

The White Lotus

Snowyayday · 03/04/2026 09:22

I also got very excited over this but Mare of East town is not on it!
White lotus season one is available under the hbo max section so I will start with that.

It’s because HBO Max has launched in the UK now - all the good shows that used to be on Sky Atlantic were actually HBO Max shows, so they’ve all moved to the new platform. Can’t think what would be left to watch on Sky Atlantic now tbh!

Thanks for that. Something like this is nearly always linked to a change like this.

Thanks - have looked at the prices https://www.nowtv.com/

But in reality my viewing habits make more sense to take up one of the 3 month discounts on one service or another.

Its just I got over excited when I saw I was getting something for free - and then stupidly thought it would give me access to the back catalogue.

Salt Marsh, Last of us, all her fault. Save me, if boxset there, all brilliant

LittleGreenDragons · 03/04/2026 21:57

I enjoyed All her fault after the first episode. I say enjoyed but it was quite harrowing in places.

Under Salt Marsh started off good and then all the characters became annoying. Every single one. It was probably two episodes too long.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 03/04/2026 22:18

Mare of Eastown
Your Honor

IwantToRetire · 04/04/2026 17:35

Thanks for suggestions.

And for other VM customers, I agree it is hard to track down which complete series are available. But I found by using the promotion VM currently has for this channel on their home page, if you click on each one and go to episodes it quickly shows you which are "available" as this is what it says!

So what I've been doing is each time I see a series is available and even if I am not sure I want to watch it I add it to my watchlist so I dont have to search again.

Apparently this isn't a time listed offer, it is for anyone who has Sky Entertainment as part of their package.

Not sure if that helps!

And just to say when I was doing this last night I saw that Chernoby which only had 1 series was available, and have started with that. I remember a lot of people recommending it at the time it came out.

Not only that, a lot of Sky customers pay £4 for UHD and some pay for ad skipping, I get ad skipping free but because it's all moved to HBO, it's now all with ads and only HD unless we pay another £10 for premium HBO

Snowyayday · 04/04/2026 20:55

Yes im back to say I was wrong Blush season 1 of white lotus is under hbo max because thats a paid subscription app. I never got as far as actually clicking on it until now.
