I grew up in the 80s and watched every episode with my mum 😇❤️

Oh I used to love this show. I also loved Dempsey and Makepeace from around them same time.

I really, really wanted to be Christine Cagney

I've been rewatching it on prime lately, I loved it back in the 80's and wasn't sure I would like so much now, but I do 😁 I did skip S1 though because there was a different actress playing Cagney and she was totally wrong.

Ooh, I have found my people. I might just start re watching C&L from the beginning (by that I mean Sharon Gless’ first episode).

Growing up, I also wanted to be a Christine. But my life is much more Mary-Beth!

Loved Cagney and Lacey also have lovely memories of me and my sister watching it with my mum after my brother's went to bed. Felt so grown up. BBC 2 had afternoon reruns about 10/ 15 years ago, it coincided with me being on maternity leave so sat feeding my newborn watching it.

I loved both women and Harv!

Another vote for David the lawyer. Although no man could compete with her love for the job. She was brilliant. The hair, the clothes, the apartment.

I adored D&M. Me and a friend were obsessed with it. We read the book, talked about it loads and we adored MB & HB!! Only teenagers back then.

Love this, not me dancing round my kitchen like a loon at the beginning of each episode "Ba da da da, Da da da da da, Ba, da,da,da ....."
I never skip it , such an uplifting tune 😊

I watched some in the eighties but was very young and didn't understand all of it. Really enjoying watching it now as all the characters are realistic and brilliant. Gritty, true to its day and funny.

I love this show! I watched it when it first came out. I like their relationship. Mary Beth still goes home and helps her kids with the reading and spends time with Harv. Yes, you can be a wife and mum and still do a tough job!
They were great partners and friends, but still challenged each other!
Huge fan!

The toilets could do with a bit of an upgrade, though.

I loved that one of the detectives in more modern US comedy Brooklyn 99 called his twin daughters Cagney and Lacey!!!
