As promised on the TMS thread, here is the Brits thread, to discuss the ceremony as it unfolds. Hosted again by Jack Whitehall.

It's a long one, folks. Grin

And for those who don't live here, it's in Manchester (and they have been making a big deal of this), at the Co-op Arena . Harry Styles is performing (he's a Co-op Arena shareholder Grin )

Other performers include SOMBR and RAYE- and others who use a lot of capital letters.

So- join me, to discuss the dodgy outfits, iffy singing, and reminisce about 'back in the day' Grin.

The Nominees

Thanks @Raahh

I'm in!

notmuchtoit · 28/02/2026 18:28

Signing in.

SoScarletItWas · 28/02/2026 18:32

Signing in, with my Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood memories showing my age.

MadisonAvenue · 28/02/2026 18:33

I want to watch, just because of Noel Gallagher getting an award, but not sure how long I can stand to watch Jack Whitehall.

Hi Rahh!

Signing in, with my Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood memories showing my age.

That was so painful to watch.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 28/02/2026 18:34

My fave was when Kanye West (terrible man) performed with Britain's Grime stars, but the song was full of expletives so most of it was muted out 😄😄😄

The only words we heard were 'all day', with peope jumping around! No idea what the point was - although he'd gone quite publicly mad then

GellerYeller · 28/02/2026 18:37

Looking forward to Noel, Harry, Raye and the Ozzy tribute.
I’m also old enough to remember Fox and Fleetwood! And Jarvis Cocker ending up in the police station being represented by Bob Mortimer. Good times.

Pricesandvices · 28/02/2026 18:38

Harry is opening I think.
I hope Olivia is on second so I can settle down after that. Saturday is usually my really early night.

Raahh · 28/02/2026 18:40

Evening all!

Jack may have to be tuned out. I can take him in small doses.

There is a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, with past members of his band- headed by Robbie Williams, at Sharon's invitation. Most of the 'tributes' have been done by Yungblud up to now. (Sorry YUNGBLUD- maybe they had used up the capital letter quota).

Grin

(I would prefer Yungblud to Robbie doing this, if I'm honest).

Sam and Mick were 1989- it was a disaster, but fun to look back on.

(The disparity in heights was one of the funniest things).

Checking in. Who is flavour of the year this time round! Two years ago it was Raye and last year was Charlie XCX.

I need to collect DD at 8pm so we will be watching slightly behind. I’ll follow the thread so I can make witty comments and pass them off as my own.

Jarvis Cocker has to be my favourite Brits moment, and Bob Mortimer representing him and Vic Reeves being outside the police station holding a sign saying Free The Jarvis 1, or words to that effect, was just the icing on the cake 😂

I think Oliva Dean is leading the nominations, along with Lola Young. (both have 5)Olivia has had more hits (currently number 1 with Sam Fender), so she may do better.

Raahh · 28/02/2026 18:53

Having said that, Lola and Oliva don't appear in all the same categories, so it could be a close thing, if they both do well. (I really disliked 'Messy' but it was a massive hit).

I’m hoping Wolf Alice do well as I’ve had The Clearing on repeat in the car for a while.

Despite my username, IMO Taylor doesn’t deserve either of her noms this year.

I didn’t know that about Vic!

Raahh · 28/02/2026 19:21

@SoScarletItWas I LOVE Wolf Alice- their Glastonbury set last year was great.
'The Clearing' is a really good album- I wish the singles had done better.
Just two Girls is my favourite from it.

MadisonAvenue · 28/02/2026 20:20

Two minutes in and I’ve had enough 😂

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/02/2026 20:21

Disappointing outfit Harry.
