I've subscribed to tnt because I'm missing the snow too much, so Im watching the alpine skiing.

The Paralympics start today (might want a new thread for it, the opening ceremony is later).

In common with the Olympics, the curling started earlier in the week. Mixed wheel chair curling. It's different to the usual curling- since there is no sweeping, so it relies on the accuracy of the roll. The stone are pushed on poles There are pre-positioned stones as well.

I have been watching it on the You tube channel - Channel 4 will be showing other stuff, and streaming things as well, from tomorrow morning. schedule

I only found it by accident, when I found the Paralympics channel on You Tube - I was trying to find it on one of the many C4 channels- but there was nothing there.

I still find it odd that the Paralympic committee took this stance, when the Olympics didn't. It was always going to cause issues for countries. I feel sorry for the athletes who will miss out on the opportunity to attend tonight, whilst I understand their reasons for not doing.

This is a strange opening number- kind of mummies.

I may be talking to myself but I quite like it so far- very atmospheric.

The volunteers are getting a proper workout. Making me tired just watching.

The commentators sound very tense about the Russians coming out. It really shouldn't be like this.

I am enjoying watching the mascots dancing though.

It is a very odd decision- but they have separate committees, and the paralympic committee voted to allow them in.

Great support for the Ukraine athletes- first time I've really heard the crowd.

Course, we heard the crowds when Italy came in.

That bloke was trying hard to justify the allowing Russia/'Belarus to compete under their own flag. Whilst not directly saying that.

They were allowed the Olympics- just as neutral athletes. No flag.

At this point they’d have to chuck the US out for breaching the same rule. The whole thing seems like a total mess.
