Think I would get fed up and have a sandwich if dinner wasn't ready before 9pm.😄

We’re having the sweet potatoes curry tonight . Easy recipe , although I’ve not added the paneer yet and I’m not confident frying it

Meredusoleil · 09/03/2026 20:13

Love this family's house 🏠 ❤️ The mum's blue eye shadow not so much 😐

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2026 20:33

Running late due to dd gym. Just starting now

So he cooks. Just it’s a late meal

Trying to work out what meals he cooks. Obv a lasagne but what else

Considering she is meant to be about quick meals why does she not make a roux by just putting everything in the pan and stirring. I have been doing it that way for years and it is much quicker and easier

Meredusoleil · 09/03/2026 20:59

Oh my word! Next week is a single mum with SIX kids 😳

Second time watching. Really lovely family.

Only half paying attention so why wasn’t the mum cooking if her dh got home late?

I’m afraid I wasn’t completely sold on the recipes tonight.

Each to their own but my dh wandered in and said that the thought of having some of them waiting for him in the freezer would make him feel a bit depressed!
😆😆😆

I get the importance of budgeting, meal planning and taking the stress away by shopping and prepping strategically, and watching nutrition, but I don’t understand the Batch Lady’s rationale about which processed things were ok eg pastry, minced garlic in a jar and pre-grated cheese. And which were not?

Also, do you really want frozen food x 3 a day?

mydogisthebest · 09/03/2026 22:23

I agree about some of the things she uses. I am sure bought pastry is fine but I make it in fairly large quantities and freeze it. Grated cheese is more expensive and it hardly takes long to grate cheese does it? Also you can grate a block and freeze it.

She also is always recommending tinned potatoes but I think they are horrible. They have a strange taste

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2026 22:36

I have bought a tin of pots last week

don’t know what to do with them yet

many say to bing in air fryer and have like mini roasties

Be interested to see what you think of them. I think they are horrible

Anyonecanfallinlove · 09/03/2026 22:48

I also find some of the recommendations weird. Ready grated cheese is more expensive, and most are upf!
There's just no way I'd buy tinned potatoes, just from the look of them. A bag of baby potatoes is often under £1, it doesn't make sense. Possibly time saving but if you're batch cooking then surely you just cook them whilst prepping.
I don't batch cook, I probably should, but I just can't get into it. I hate freezer food and am known to just have ice and ice lollies in my freezer.
I don't want to have to clean out freezer bags, and I don't use plastic containers

Episode four tonight

I actually liked the look of the chicken parmigiana tonight and some of the 5 meals (x2) that they made from the beef.
