couldnt agree more @HK04 I feel quite sorry for Jade

I suspect/hope that the others are onto Rachel and Stephen and are biding their time. Roxy’s constant over the top defense of Rachel is a red flag for me. Better strategy to keep known traitors in rather than have to deduce who the newly recruited ones were.

I’m finding this series far less enjoyable - it’s become the Rachel show and I just can’t warm to her at all. Everything is going her way. There is zero intrigue and has become a bit boring. Someone upthread mentioned Traitors Aus series 2 which was excellent in every way. Definitely worth a watch!

I wonder if Rachel (and Stephen to a lesser extent) is benefiting from a bit of metagaming.

All the Faithfuls actually know at this point is that Hugo and Fiona were traitors. It’s also a reasonable assumption with 8 players still left in the game that there are at least 2 traitors remaining (as in previous seasons they’ve always blackmailed when they’ve got down to 1 traitor).

So they’ve banished two older, white Traitors. If they’re thinking about demographics, they’d probably assume that one of the OG traitors is younger and / or not white - letting Rachel out on both counts and leaning towards Roxy, Jade or Faraaz.

I think the traitors are mostly benefitting from the self importance of the remaining faithfuls - ‘someone keeps me here because I’m their good friend’, ‘they are framing me - I’ve had enough ’, ‘they’ll be recruiting me tonight’,…

Perhaps the editing in of all Roxy’s defending is foreshadowing a Rachel/Roxy Endgame where Rachel wins and Roxy is massively upset…

ZappyDays · 17/01/2026 08:25

The only way Stephen is staying in the game, in my opinion, is because Rachel is diverting attention away from him. It’s clever play from Rachel because if Stephen leaves she’d have to recruit another traitor who could ruin her game. She needs to keep Stephen in until the very end. It’ll be interesting to see if she’s happy to share the money with him though.

I do think the traitors deserve to win this one though and usually I’m firmly team faithful! It seems all the effective faithfuls have left the game. If any of the remaining faithfuls win, I haven’t seen anything yet to make me think they deserve it. Granted, one of them might suddenly cotton on at the end but at the moment none of them are sharing in their VTs that they have any suspicious (that stick) about the correct people.

I just realised I missed Farooz's story round the dinner table-what ddid he say?

I do agree with this. She reacted so badly to any suspicion towards her, and this was pretty early in the game, not just once it increased. She came across as genuinely haughty and personally offended. Once players start making it personal it becomes unpleasant. Having a tragic backstory or ND aren’t a free pass to getting to behave like that (no clue who might be ND anyway, the term is bandied around so much these days and some people like to self-diagnose anyway.) I wish the screening of contestants had picked up that Jade wasn’t comfortable or confident to give much to the game and that she had zero resilience and wouldn’t cope with any suspicions thrown her way. It’s a GAME! It’s a TV show! If people can’t get their heads around that, don’t apply.

Edited

There was a fragile contestant in US S1. She developed a deep attachment to a very competent Traitor. At the final reveal, she began berating the Traitor " I trusted you. How could you do this to me? " etc etc. It was so uncomfortable to watch. And totally took the spotlight away from the very deserving Traitor.

I do think people should be comfortable with being accused, lied to, betrayed. Need to be a bit thickskinned.

xsquared · 17/01/2026 08:28

SoScarletItWas · 17/01/2026 07:47

I don’t think she said or anyone in the game

She did explicitly deny the connection suggested but that was Jack, wasn’t it? (Please someone confirm; I am not certain.)

Yes, another pp pointed out that it was Jack, not James.

I still don't think she's related to anyone remaining though, as I think she would have mentioned it in the exit interview or Uncloaked.

He wanted to take his family to pilgrimage to Mecca, and buy ‘another motor’

After the first few I commented to my husband that the lack of sob stories was refreshing. And then Jade spoke 😟

SeanutBrittleOnToastedCoral · 17/01/2026 08:29

HK04 · 17/01/2026 07:42

Disagree. Jade lost her Mum and sibling around age of 18. That is tragic and explains a lot… +she admits herself it’s taken a lot to get her confidence back up. Jade may also be ND and even if not, said too she doesn’t let people in easily… she didn’t breakdown when accused (part of the game) 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc times… but when you are singled out almost every time and are still young/bit fragile it’s understandable to breakdown a bit.

Go Jade for telling Matt to shove his hug…Matt is behaving like a traitor since the pieces of silver chat in the Church…

Rachel will do anything to win. Traitors have the strategic advantage and it would be much more amusing if either Stephen takes it all at the last breath or Faithfuls win… those saying they haven’t done much… what can they do? They’re sitting ducks, Traitors get to have much more screen time/fun.

Last paragraph - agree so hard.

If you find a traitor, your fellow faithfuls with banish you.

I know Rachel has the advantage of being a traitor but I admire her for the way she tries to shake things up.
The way she decided to suggest Faraaz was a traitor killing off the older players, then the way she made that "I know who it is" announcement at breakfast.

It would be great if more players did that and took risks in the game.
I think Rachel would have been a really good faithful & would have played exactly the same way with theories, risky game play etc.

I have warmed to her a lot as the game has gone along & Stephen too. I didn't rate him at first but he has made some quite astute observations and decisions in recent episodes.

CharlotteRumpling · 17/01/2026 08:42

I want to agree with whoever said Claudia is brilliant. She is a comic genius. Never too much camp, but just enough.
All the other Traitors hosts are pretty shit. Either too dull or like Alan Cumming, too OTT.

ZappyDays · 17/01/2026 08:44

But the remaining faithfuls have ignored so many big clues about who the traitors are. They don’t even have quiet suspicions about the correct people that they just share with the viewers. If they win it will be due to a process of elimination. They are completely blindsided by the big characters. I still stick by traitors deserve this one. I just hope both win the money as they have both helped each other so much.

MadamCholetsbonnet · 17/01/2026 08:45

I agree, I can’t warm to Rachel. I think she will have given herself the dagger.

Bookies are usually bang on and seeing it was filmed last summer they have Stephen & Rachel as 1st/2nd…

CharlotteRumpling · 17/01/2026 08:46

See, if I were Faraaz, I would have been so suspicious of Rachel coming up to me like that. But he's just bumbling along dreaming of his " motor". 😀

MapleSyrupOnToas · 17/01/2026 08:48

I hope that the traitors will win. Not because I like them, but the faithful are useless. The Traitors have picked off all the astute and capable faithfuls and left themselves with an easily manipulated and weak bunch. It is a bit boring to watch, compared to earlier in the series.

He's so sweet, he's either going to get murdered or by some miracle he'll find himself in a winning cohort of Faithfuls and still not quite realise what's happened. Pretty babes in the wood...

Alan Cumming was trying to be Richard O'Brien in The Crystal Maze. It was awful. The Aussie host was so boring I sometimes didn't realise he was there.

Claudia is just perfect. I don't even know how or why. Camp enough with just enough sincerity. Perfect Gamesmistress. I laughed so hard when she crashed the dinner party and all of them were like "oh, not you!"

CaveMum · 17/01/2026 08:54

It happens every series - the Faithful get close to getting a Traitor out but don’t and the next day seem to have collective amnesia and forget to carry on following the train of thought.

Reminds me of the Ben/Glory storyline in Buffy (hope that’s not a spoiler for anyone 😜)

This series has become disappointing, all the drama was over in the beginning. It showed so much promise. As usual, the big, feisty characters who actually wanted to to play the game have gone and we’re left with the clueless coasters.

I really don’t like Rachel but she deserves to win as she has actually plotted and dodged her way through, she’s earned it. Stephen has done a great job too as he seems to be everyone’s friend and they all trust him. I like to see a traitor win.

The worst outcome is is like S1 when three bewildered faithfuls won, they had wandered around in a daze for weeks not picking up on any clues and won it by default because Wilf double crossed Kieran right at the last minute.

I don’t even care who is related to who any more - bring on the fire pit!

CharlotteRumpling · 17/01/2026 08:59

Stephen is very, very likeable. He was a bit timid at first, but now a deserving winner. I would like to go down to the pub with him and discuss my love of Freddy Mercury: bet he's a fan!

Sparklesandspandexgallore · 17/01/2026 09:04

I would give the dagger to Stephen. The faithfulls are not united in who to banish. By doing this they ensure someone gets at least 3 votes. Is anyone else realistically going to get 4 votes? I don’t think so. It is risky though but the only way to ensure the game goes the traitors way.
I would be getting rid of Matthew first, either through banishment or murder and also Ross or Faz.
As long as the 2 traitors get to the fire pit I think they are safe.
So far nobody is mentioning Rachel or Stephen enough to get them banished. If they give the dagger away, unless that player is very vocal about who they will vote out, it’s a huge risk and could be wasted. The only other option I see is give it to Roxy and for Rachel to ask her who she is going to vote for, then her and Stephen go with that.
But, I suppose as long as a faithful is banished does it really matter?
My other thought is can the traitors guarantee there will be a murder? If not then they are on dodgey ground.

Sparklesandspandexgallore · 17/01/2026 09:05

I love the clothes they wear. So nice to see men not in track suits.

peacefulpeach · 17/01/2026 09:08

Actually hope none of them win this time. People keep saying rachel and Steven deserve to win but frankly they’re only visible because they’re traitors. If Rachel had been a faithful she’d have been banished / murdered ages ago (what with being middle aged and seemingly bright). The game needs some sort of rejig, the traitors have such a big advantage, and the faithfuls main hope of winning is to be utterly dull.
