Who is Dorothy? Who Seigfried is obviously crushing over

A friend of Mrs H's who appeared in previous episodes. If she and the lovely Siegfried end up together I will not be happy and Christmas will literally be ruined.

Does anyone else want The Lovely Siegfried to end up with Mrs H?

Well I’m crying over a goat and her dear old owner and also hoping Siegfried gets with Mrs H!

Mrs Hall had a moment of envy in the pub I think. Or realisation. Dorothy can do just do one…
I enjoyed it. A nice balance of Christmas mush and sadness at the lasting effects of war.

It was a lovely episode (Dorothy excepted) very moving with just the right amount of humour.

See, I quite like Dorothy! And better suited to Siegfried than Mrs Hall.

The goat scene was so sad, but I did feel it didn't have to die.

The Nativity was lovely, as was Rudolf.

Do we think Helen was using KIT days for her scenes?

Just watched it. Was certain we’d see Siegfried and Mrs H get closer and I was here for it. Christmas ruined (obvs not really, for those who take everything literally).

Nor me. There would be such a mismatch in the relationship.

I was sad about the goat etc. My life is fine, but at 54 I just notice more about the passing of time than I used to

I found the goat being pts especially sad as I said the same words to my dog (you were the best girl) when she was pts three months ago. Having said that, All Creatures is the best, balances sentimentality and reality perfectly. Another vote for Mrs S and Siegfried, although I guess producers don't want it to happen too soon to keep viewers guessing.

I see them as good friends that have a good relationship but really don't see them as a couple.

Of course! I saw Mrs Hall was a tad jealous.

She gave birth mid series, so I think she was very recently post partum! In jamas and dressing gown was a good solution!

I really enjoyed it. Christmas 1945 was supposed to be the "best ever", but we think about Maggie, and other losses, and all that people endured. I thought it was beautifully done.
I like the animal stories, they don't get over sentimental, and show what vets have to deal with.
I did like Mrs Pumphrey suggesting that James writes stories about Tricki Woo!

Yes, I wanted it last year. And then after this series ep1 I was sure it would happen Christmas Eve, but nope.

I think there have been so many warm touching moments over the series. They have in all practical ways brought Tristram up together as an 'odd couple', and as well as the loving, longing moments between the two of them, they have held hands quietly and proudly at the end of episodes where Tris has finally knuckled down and passed exams or come home safely from war.

I think it has always been inevitable they will come together and it's a shame they couldn't have made it official this Christmas, and they would have had time for their relationship to blossom and also face challenges in S7 and 8.
