Christmas is close, 🎄 we've had minus temperatures for a wee while, and the darker days and sunset by 4pm is with us.

Let Undead Becky continue to bore and annoy us! Let nasty Theo continue to infuriate us! Let the potential child grooming storylines shock us! Let Carl Chuckle Brother continue to shag anything with a pulse! (And hopefully dump Abi!) AND let's get ready for Christmaaaaaaaaaas!!!!!! 🎅❄🎄

Sorry to be a pain, but ( in a nutshell ) can anyone tell me the back story to Carla, Becky Lisa and the girl who was on the sofa with them last night . Is kit a policeman who works with Lisa?
Also, who is the girl at the Rovers who realizes Megan may be grooming Will ? She was in white joggers last night.
thanks

He told Debbie the deposit was £3k and she said take it out of the hotel funds. The deposit was only £1k so he'll pocket the rest. (£1k deposit for an event 3 weeks away is ridiculous, they would surely want 50% by that point!)

I'm pretty sure that the majority of wedding venues would want the amount in full when it's only 3 weeks away, even if it was a cancellation and you were only just booking it. (In fact isn't Debbie and Ronnie's wedding 2 weeks away - I thought it was Christmas Eve, but I could be wrong...) But yeah, £1000 is a nonsensical deposit, most wedding venues would want at least a third of the full amount as a deposit.

And if it's some fancy stately home type place which I think it is (as many that aren't church weddings are these days,) it would be around £17K, so even if they had offered it at half price, it would still be £8K... So they would want at least £3K for the deposit. And at this point (the wedding being just a few weeks away,) they would want the amount in full I'm sure...

Four young people I know got have married at a big stately home type place over the past 3 years, and it cost £13K to £15K and they do everything for you/provide everything etc. These people paid a £5K to £7K deposit, and they wanted the remainder about 5 or 6 weeks before the 'big day.'

Thanks @SabreIsMyFave I haven't even been to a wedding at a stately home but even I knew the £1k was ridiculous! I think the wedding is early January.

I wonder how it will be filmed, if they will genuinely use a stately home. I bet it is just mocked up interiors. I remember Mike and Linda's wedding, that was a beautiful venue, Corrie doesn't have the money for that kind of thing nowadays. At least we can rely on Debbie looking fab!

Can’t Carla ask Becky to leave the house, it’s unbelievable, where does she sleep and where is Ryan to assist

Edited

I agree with this. Surely it was Carla's house first/is Carla's house? Does Carla not own it? I would throw Lisa, and Becky, AND bloody Betsy out. Why on earth is Carla staying in a hotel, considering going off to Spain for 2 weeks, and generally being left out in the cold?! Also, as has been said, where is Ryan? Confused

And Betsy saying 'I can't wait to spend Christmas with my 2 mums!' 😄 And then saying 'er, oh and yeah, you too Carla!' Like Carla was an afterthought...

Also, does Betsy seriously think that Carla wants to stay with her and Lisa and Becky over Christmas?!

Lisa is pathetic letting Becky worm her way in and take over. If she loves and wants Carla, she needs to tell Becky to get the feck out. Otherwise, break it off with Carla. Stop leaving her in limbo.

Carla said to Becky last night "it's my house". It makes no sense she doesn't tell them all to leave. Including Swain, who is pathetic. If I was feeling generous I'd say it was so that Kit knows where to find Becky when he eventually arrests her for not being dead.

You're welcome @Shellingbynight Smile I mean, there may be some places where it's different (and maybe a bit cheaper,) and my info is anecdotal, but I am sure it's a big flashy stately home type place that Debbie wanted... So if Abby and Carl found something that was on her wish list, that would be pretty much the same I think.

Oh, and yeah, re; the wedding date, I think you're right, I do recall Debbie (or someone) saying it's early January now. Thank you. Smile

Yea, she said that (it's my house,) when she was faking being drunk (and recording Becky) didn't she?

I've never been a fan of Carla (her voice is awful and that's my reason) but her pretence at being sloshed when with Becky was impressive. I'd not have guessed 👍
I do remember she told someone a while back that she took the house on with Lisa. I possibly wrongly assumed they have a joint mortgage. There's never a mention of Lisa's home since she first moved in with Carla with the reason being her own house was under some repair.

All a load of bunkum.

I think I remember Carla saying she bought the house with Lisa too.

NebulousSadTimes · 11/12/2025 11:14

I liked the Debbie scenes. The scene where she couldn't remember their song was so well done.

I was only half watching but I thought Abi's tears looked real, as if the actress herself was moved.

@the80sweregreat I think the Sainsbury's shop is there because it's Argos that sponsors Corrie.

Talking of which, that Argos dolly creeps me out.

I'm glad that Lauren is onto the groomer, it's the sort of thing I would imagine will be on her radar.

That Argos doll was ok on the sofa, off the sofa it's downright weird.

I think it's going to be Home Farm in Emmerdale as previous episodes of both have hinted at Belle being the wedding planner. It would explain the Corrie/Emmerdale crossover.

Shellingbynight · 11/12/2025 16:23

They named the wedding venue last night, it is not Home Farm.

strangetimesbelow · 11/12/2025 16:27

Corriedale is 5th Jan apparently.

1reason · 11/12/2025 17:07

Had a quick look at upcoming spoilers...seems the same storylines will just keep on running.
Far too much time last night spent on the perennial Becky/ Lisa/ Carla triangle!
Lauren is on Megan's case for sure...wonder what will happen when Maggie Driscoll finds out!
Felt really sorry for Joanie when noone turned up for her small party. Sally and Tim were very supportive of her.

Middlemarch123 · 11/12/2025 17:47

So done with Becky etc.

Only watching for Todd and Theo.
At least not so focused on Maggie etc last night.
Just bring Peter back.
And Abi can bog off.

eggandonion · 11/12/2025 18:07

I think Abi needs to go before Peter comes back so he doesn't have a fling with her.

Noooo, he wouldn’t go for Abi! He’s Carla’s! Although, oh hell yeah, you’re probably right, he might try to save another addict…

He already did, on a boat he had parked outside the garage. Might have been just after Seb died

Me neither! Although I will take him over Bay City Becky & Swain anyday!
