It happened before jack was born so he's just repeating the well known story which they all seemed to find amusing which it isn't, especially by today's standards.

It seems ironic that they wade through innards, what happened to the animals, waste millions of insects, snakes, frogs, eels, fishes and no one cares. Attempts to stop this have so far failed.

True. But watched lots of TV and all the soaps back in day. Celeb gossip mags etc.
I definitely think they have been told to share their most well known life stories.
Some viewers like me thinking of course we are now gonna hear the story and others not knowing.
Its such a staged show these days.
