Carrying on from the last thread. Smile

Asha took an overdose, as she has been depressed and low, but she's OK (physically.) Recently been attacked by a horrible racist woman who seems to have got away with it thus far!

Brody - Kit's son - is starting to become 'nice,' like (nearly) all the bad kids do!

Tim has just met up with a woman he knew from years ago... An ex flame I think. Sally is not happy!

Jenny has left!

Bethany is back! Lost her journo job. Again!

Todd is still in a bad, toxic relationship with Theo! Lego hair.

Lisa Swain's deceased wife Becky has risen from the grave! Threatening Lisa and Carla's relationship.

Kev's brother Carl enjoys having sex - with anyone really. Abi believes that Carl loves her. He doesn't!

Tyrone's not having a good time lately! He's in a bad way after being hit by a car.

Probably some more stuff going on that I've missed.

@JewelleryCat I don't think that's it, we still see soap kissing don't we? Weren't Abi and Carl all over each other (I've tried to blot that from my mind).
I assume Will & co aren't kissing because the character is under age and it's grooming.

When the grooming storyline happened in Emmerdale, I’m sure Jacob and Maya were very kissy but I could be misremembering

I have always watched Corrie but stopped back in the spring because it was so dire. I started again when Eva's family arrived, and have watched since.

It looks like I'm on a completely different page to everyonelse because I loved tonight's episode. I thought it was proper old school Corrie - no police stations, no Swain, no Becky, no Betsy. And the main 'dilemma' was a human dilemma, not involving serial killers or car crashes or bloody Kit or Lauren.

It focussed on characters I like and care about, lovely scenes with the Platts and even in the Rovers, some nice lines for Reet and Glenda is fab. And I felt so sorry for Kev, left alone at the end of the evening.

I loved it. I might even have felt faintly tearful. I haven't loved a Corrie episode in years (apart from Classic).

I’ve finally caught up & agree with this! I’m not a fan of Shona but totally sad for the dilemma that she & David are facing. I love Corrie & want it to go from strength to strength!

I watched Emmerdale during Jacob/Maya but I can't remember what they showed. There could be a difference in the actors' ages, Jacob was 15 but the actor was 17, I can't see the Will actor's age given anywhere and I suppose that would make a difference.

You're right the storyline is similar. Although we knew Jacob and Maya well when it started, unlike in Corrie where are complete strangers to us.

Will looks about 25 & his older brother 30, so neither of them look like they could be Eva’s boyfriend’s sons at all as the dad only looks about 40! How old are they all meant to be (other than Will who is 15 & Susie who is 7 (at least that’s how old I’m sure they said she was))?

Yes Susie's 7 (going on 25). Eva's 37.

I would have said Ben is mid 40s so could easily have a son in his early 20s.

I think Ollie looks far too young for DD though. DD looks and acts older than her years. I suppose on account of her torrid past.

Last night's episode was a bit of a trudge, I don’t mind Eva but Mrs Doyle’s acting looked a bit shaky. I haven’t taken to Will either, I am not a fan of introducing characters with an immediate ‘issue’. Adding in Tim’s story feels really heavy handed, but they do like to lay it on thick.

I wish Sally should stop going on about Tim being groomed. It is his story, not hers, and her banging on about it is completely pointless.

Lauren has developed into a watchable character now she’s got over the serial killer issue.

@SabreIsMyFave Theo was getting Todd pissed to ruin tomorrow's posh funeral. Because he is a miserable abusing git who hasn’t got a job.

@zanahoria which of Gail’s husband’s was the burglar - Les Dennis or death-in-the-boat man?

Edit - the best bit was the scene in the hairdressers.

I agree about Sal, feels like that is being shoe horned into the other story.

The grooming story is a bit odd as we did not actually see the grooming.

I wish they would not do big stories like this with new characters. I was just beginning to like the new family but this seems a bit jarring.

They having history for introducing new characters with huge issues, they did similar with Lauren.

I wondered if the reason for no kissing between Will and Megan is because the Megan actor has refused to kiss a child, or because the Will actor's parents/chaperone have refused to allow it.

I can't find the age of the Will actor, but I imagine he's under 18.

I think that Tim is going to discover what is going on with Will and Megan, which will lead to the realisation that yes, he was groomed as a teenager. Possibly a historic grooming prosecution?

Yes Ben looks too young somehow and Mrs Doyle is only about 63 in real life

I never noticed much until the family showed up but DD looks about the same age as Ollie's step mum

He's done a year at Pendleton College which is sixth form performing arts... so likely 17 still.
