Can anyone recommend any crime/thriller dramas?

No Australian shows please and nothing gratuitously graphic but other than that anything goes including any shows that are subtitled and old shows.

I’d appreciate any recommendations as this isn’t a genre that I’ve really explored.

TIA

Happy Valley
Criminal Minds - three different versions
Strike
waking the Dead
Silent Witness - from the start
some wacky US ones in the form of Bones/Castle/Body of Evidence

Bodkin on Netflix is good, and I enjoyed The Guest on BBC.

Radyward · 23/09/2025 23:52

Im on

caringcarer · 23/09/2025 23:56

Coldwater.

AtomHeartMotherOfGod · 24/09/2025 00:06

Funny crime that I really enjoyed:

Death Valley
Ludwig

Three uber popular crime shows that I was also completely HOOKED on... but definitely gory/ disturbing:

Line of Duty
The Bridge
Happy Valley

CharlieChaplin99 · 24/09/2025 01:33

The Guest, Coldwater, In Flight, Blue Lights or Blue Light or blast from the past No Offence.

I have recently watched ‘The Girlfriend’ . A new 6 parter (UK) . Completely obsessed! All of my friends have watched it too. It’s brilliant (and slightly awful at the same time but acting very good). Gorgeous houses, soft furnishings, obsessive characters and death. What’s not to like 😂

Friendlygingercat · 24/09/2025 06:39

Im not a crime thriller type but LIne of Duty is absolutely one of the best things Ive ever watched.

The Jury is also well worth a watch.

The Killing - one of the best crime thriller shows!

Where can this be watched now , I’d love to see the series again .

Radyward · 24/09/2025 07:48

10000% @Hope24
We saw The Danish version not the US remake.
The best ever

AnotherSliceOfCakePlease · 24/09/2025 07:49

Another one for original Danish version of The Killing. Also The Bureau and Spiral, two of the best French series ever made, imo. The Serpent also great.

Currently you can only buy on Prime Video, £4.99 per season.

Sorry if anyone's said it upthread but Dept Q on Netflix, nominated for an Emmy and if there is justice in the world it will win. It is utterly brilliant, mainly due to the acting.

I am Akram.😂

Twiglets1 · 01/10/2025 19:02

Blackbird is good if you have Apple TV

Littlemrsconfetti · 01/10/2025 19:43

I fought the law on ITV

So glad Alexej Manvelov is finally getting international recognition. Been watching him for years in Swedish stuff and he’s brilliant. He also had a small part in Chernobyl.
