Just watching this on channel 5, and I’ve never seen anything more chaotic. I know this is reality TV but honest buying furniture without measuring a room is completely ridiculous.. I don’t understand why the couple have taken the on.

She's done cafes in previous series , it's not a new thing.

I think a lot was cut and edited. He was scared of change and she's brusque and efficient, not a great combination.

I can understand him wanting the top painted, it looked shit next to new yellow paint.

I totally understood his critique too. AP could’ve been sympathetic and said “I know darling but we don’t have the budget to do every single thing and it looks a lot better than it did before…” but no, she was actually really stroppy and then walked off.

I like AP and have watched Hotel Inspector from the beginning but I think she came across as an entitled arse in this one. Expecting grovelling gratitude when ‘all her hard work’ is a few days filming with a large crew that do most of the donkey work and I’m sure she gets paid handsomely for. She is making a tv programme after all!

I’m just watching it now - he didn’t mention at the 4 week follow up if he’d painted the top 🤣🤣

I agree. It was mostly about her hoarding problem. I also wondered about the owner's ability to carry on for much longer at her age. B&B's are bloody hard work and she seemed to be doing it all single handed.

She wasn't exactly ancient! Once she'd embraced the online side of things she seemed to be doing well.

Well she was four years shy of 80 and (having worked in hospitality for a long time) I know what a bloody hard slog it is. I'm 70 myself and having to get up at 5am to prepare breakfasts, doing change over days etc etc isn't going to be sustainable for many more years. Embracing online bookings is the easy bit. It really hasn't solved the problem of her keeping her home and having a guaranteed income until she dies basically.

She didn't seem to be incapable of keeping the guests rooms and gardens and kitchen spotless. The hoarding was an emotional issue which she really tackled well with the help. I think she's got a good few years yet.

I saw the episode with the hoarding lady. All well and good, glad she got sorted out but the thing that struck me was Alex and her apparent personality transplant. Since when did she become so nice?
