Old thread full.
I'd forgotten about Buddy, bless him.
We must be getting rid of Eliza soon?
Baby Archie has grown a couple of months in a few episodes!

I feel Brax and Ricky are wasted in this storyline. Yes the scenery is stunning but their life looks so bloody dull. I hope it gets more interesting.

I was thinking that it looked quite an isolating dull lifestyle. The beach though with clear waters - stunning.

That beach was beautiful 😍

They've told Jo he's near Exmouth, having done a quick Google, it's a town of about 2.5k people far from anywhere, that swells to 6k in the summer. If this is a PR exercise for tourism, surely they should have gone for somewhere people can actually get to.

PrincessScarlett · 24/04/2026 20:15

I'm not liking that in the preview for every single next episode they basically show the last scene of the next episode before we've seen it. If that makes sense!

It's really starting to annoy me.

And having 3 massive stories at the same time - Tane, Lacey and Remi - I feel they are not doing justice to each story. The fact Lacey has killed her stalker has totally fallen to the wayside. I'd much rather see the aftermath of Lacey's story than the extended Tane shower scene and Brax constantly saying "don't ask any questions" over and over.

And no doubt Jo and Cash will travel to Exmouth and bump into Tane within minutes of arriving 🙄

Rummikub · 24/04/2026 23:00

Yes the previews confused me.

I thought don’t waste the shower water Tane by lingering. There’s no pipe work ?

It looks so desolate.

Yes Lacey’s story has all but disappeared

thecatdidit · 28/04/2026 08:09

I'm fast forwarding the Tane scenes as I don't know who the Exmouth characters are. I watched Home and Away when it first started, for several years and then stopped watching for a couple of decades.
I only re commenced viewing when Doctors on BBC was announced as being cancelled.

thecatdidit · 28/04/2026 08:13

I'm completely fed up with the stupid Tane storyline, ludicrous.

I am really interested in Remi (and Sonny and I'm glad Dana and he are back together.)

I'd almost forgotten the Lacey thing .

thecatdidit · 28/04/2026 08:14

I don't watch the previews as they're too spoilery (I have seen a few previews and felt it slightly ruined it for me)

FeralWoman · 28/04/2026 09:28

@thecatdidit Brax and Ricky were really big main characters in their time. Very popular. Brax and his brothers were leaders of the River Boys gang. They did all sorts of gang/thug stuff, but being Home and Away they reformed their ways and started being well behaved and with good intentions instead of just crime and violence. Of course they were always up for bashing up someone who had done them wrong, or doing shady shit on the wrong side of the law if it was for good. Ricky was attracted to the bad boy turned good, but got sucked into his criminal doings of course.

PrincessScarlett · 28/04/2026 13:36

I brushed up on the Braxton boys with the return of Brax and Ricky and was slightly shocked at how bad Brax actually was initially. Drug dealing and violence. I know he turned good but I obviously remembered him with rose tinted spectacles. I don't think Home and Away is anywhere near as violent and amoral as it used to be (thank goodness). I remember Casey's and Charlie's death being very upsetting and completely down to how Brax lived his life associating with drug dealers and murderers.

Crinkle77 · 28/04/2026 18:53

I used to like Mali but he seems to have gone really moody especially with Abbie. I get she's a bit over the top and full on but she can never seem to do anything right and he's always having a go at her. Earlier on the beach he turned on her as soon as Lacey had left to have a go at her. I happen to agree that Abbie needs to take a step back but he's very passive aggressive towards her. Like when she took him his lunch he was like oh I got a takeaway. He didn't seem very thankful that she'd made the effort to take it to him. Might just be me but just wondered what other people thought.

PrincessScarlett · 28/04/2026 22:54

@Crinkle77 Mali and Abbie don't seem to have much chemistry or anything in common. I'm wondering if Mali has developed a bit of a crush on Lacey as he seems very protective of her both when Holden was around and now he's dead.

FeralWoman · 29/04/2026 04:52

Mali is a moody, controlling, uptight jerk. I haven’t liked him for a while now. Easily a year or more. He’s so black and white about some things. No grey or leeway or compromise. So much for being a chilled out surfer and artist.

PrincessScarlett · 29/04/2026 07:08

Yeah agree that Mali comes across moody and controlling, particularly with Abbie.

Yes I thought that about Lacey too.

strugglingwithlife · 29/04/2026 07:59

Yes, that's what I've been thinking for a while, that Mali is a bit of a prick towards Abbie. He doesn't really treat her very nice, she can't seem to do anything right. I don't like him much anymore

Yes I watched from beginning and stopped in favour of neighbours. But dipped in.
but I missed the whole of the river boys

FeralWoman · 29/04/2026 23:59

New permanent character just started. I was hoping it was just a temporary one. Googled and no, it’s a proper new character. So far very annoying as new ones usually are until the Summer Bay magic makes them nicer.

Jo the nurse/police daughter remains annoying.

I don’t think I’ve ever watched a full episode of Neighbours, nor have I wanted to.

😱 Neighbours was the best. RIP

strugglingwithlife · 30/04/2026 08:20

Home and Away is miles better then neighbours

I think it’s the beach wear rather than characters and storylines.

is the new doc Swan staying?

Dr Swan was a different character for Home and Away. Love that they showed a smart skilled woman in a traditionally male job.

No spoilers from me but the website Back To The Bay has lots of spoilers, behind the scenes, and episode outlines for both Aus and UK pace. If you hate spoilers don’t visit it!

Rummikub · 30/04/2026 13:22

Yes I really like her no nonsense approach.

Is there history between Dana and dr swan? Or just her manner.

FeralWoman · 30/04/2026 13:28

No history that I’m aware of. Dana is probably just too friendly, talkative and people-oriented for the surgeon. Or maybe she hates nurses as a hierarchy type of thing.
