Feel Good/ Easy TV Recommendations

Hi all,

I'm due a baby soon and looking for recommendations for some TV series to watch in the middle of the night while I'm feeding/rocking/generally feeling like I'm the only person in the world who is awake.

Not necessarily looking for comedies, I've enjoyed these and I'm looking for similar:

Gilmore Girls
Virgin River
Hart of Dixie
Sweet Magnolias
The Durrells
All Creatures Great and Small
Downton Abbey

So I suppose more soapy than comedies.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

You will LOVE the Darling Buds of May.

I remember re-watching all of Buffy while nursing DS1. And then when DS2 came along we named him after a character from Buffy.

Then I watched all of Star Trek TNG and Voyager nursing DS2 through the nights... luckily we didn't have a third or we would have ended up with a child named Picard or Janeway.

Sorry not anything sci-fi, really not my cup of tea! I'm sounding very picky now...

Is this the original version from the 80s? They did a remake recently I think?

It was early 90s with David Jason.

I couldn't even start watching the remake. The original was so perfect.

Great I'll look that up, thanks!

Parks And Recreation!

MyCococo · 07/06/2025 20:51

I know you didn't want comedy recommendations, but I really enjoyed some of the Australian comedies on Netflix: Colin from Accounts, Fisk, The Letdown, Wellmania

NoNameMum · 07/06/2025 20:51

I’ve just started Chesapeake shores, similar vibe to Virgin river & sweet magnolias.
Have also watched and liked My life with the walter boys and if you like a historical one - Bridgerton.

UName38 · 07/06/2025 21:00

I like Hustle on BBC but not sure if too loud (not a mother)

Delphigirl · 07/06/2025 21:02

schitts creek is the absolute best.

you will definitely love Superstore (give it a few episodes) and Community

Teacup40 · 07/06/2025 21:04
