Couldn’t see a thread. Will be watching tonight. Trailer looks awesome and apparently Charlie Brooke has done his first ever sequel to an episode with a continuation of USS Callister.

Reporting back ce soir!

I watched Plaything last night. I know it had a former Doctor in it, but it did remind me of a Doctor Who episode. Also a bit of Demon 79

Demon 79 was great, really atmospheric.

plaything was good
eulogy was sad
bete noir i was happy with the ending
common people was very good

I loved it

I really enjoyed Hotel Reverie too. I like that each series of Black Mirror has such a variety of styles and moods.

LoafofSellotape · 26/04/2025 17:03

I think this has been my favourite series so far.

I'm surprised there isn't more love for Loch Henry, I thought that was superb!

Hotel Reverie was shit no?

I struggled to get through it. The Black Mirror-y aspect of it just didn’t work for me.

Plaything was superb. My favourite of Season 7.

fruitandvegoverload · 26/04/2025 19:33

I didn't enjoy Hotel Reverie. I think my favourite episode was USS Callister (we rewatched the original one first and I don't think I would have appreciated as much if I hadn't) and second favourite was Bert Noir.

I like the way that people have such different opinions about the episodes; I think that shows that the makers are doing something right as there's something for everyone in the series. Inside Number 9 is the same - I would love episodes that other people didn't and vice versa.

fruitandvegoverload · 26/04/2025 19:35

Bete Noir not Bert Noir, obviously. I don't know who Bert Noir is 😂

Yeah, I loved the rest. I didn't rate the main actress in Hotel R

Oh no, this was one of my favorites. It was beautiful.

rumred · 26/04/2025 20:46

I was blown away by hotel reverie. Maybe more poignant because I'm a lesbian and know fucking hard/impossible it was to be an out lesbian pre 1990. Roughly.
I loved the 40s actress.

SabreIsMyFave · 26/04/2025 20:52

I didn't think Hotel R was 'shit' but I didn't love it. Found it long-winded and a bit boring. Would never watch it again. There are many Black Mirror episodes that I would watch again, and again, and again! (from all the seasons,) but this isn't one of them.

Plaything was very good. Peter Capaldi was amazing!

So was Bete Noir. OMG the lass who was bullied was soooooooooo evil!

Common People was good too, with Chris O'Dowd. How the company kept 'upping' the package and making them pay more if they wanted a 'better' service. Never told them any of this when they signed up though!

Loved 'Eulogy' too!

Also enjoyed USS Callister. (Loved the first one too!)

The 1940s actress was pretty good! She looked and seemed and talked like a 1940s actress. NOT a 2020s one pretending to be one.

Loch Henry is excellent but it was series 6 and this thread is about series 7 so episodes from past series haven't got much of a mention. I expect that's the only reason.

Oh my mistake, I think on my telly/Netflix format it runs all the episodes together .

Has anyone downloaded and played Thronglets? I loved it.

I thought she was great, really made that episode. The accent was lovely.

I really liked the episode HR. I thought both of the Women in it were really good. It got me thinking, a lot, about certain things. Very thought provoking for myself.

I did but now I’m getting constant messages about abandoning them and I’m a little afraid 😂
