Anyone watching? Couldn't find a thread.

Watched it last year but it feels staged this year..

Hugo annoyed me a bit when he said that £4K is nothing. Not to some people, not to most. I can completely understand how some of them took the £4k from the atm, especially when other people were spending ££££ on frivolous nonsense.

Yes but then he went onto say he realised how lucky he was.

So maybe he should realise not everyone in the show is as privileged and 4 grand is a lot to most people 🙄

Stressybetty · 03/04/2025 11:12

Not sure how it came up when we were watching the show but DH asked if I'd eat nothing but rice and beans for a month for £10k. I said no because I know I'd really struggle to stick to it and got told I was out of touch with the value of money! Apparently he could do it no problem!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 03/04/2025 11:52

I think they're disconnected from it being real money. It's just a number. Next time give them the prize money in cash to carry with them. It may well be very different if they have to see it, feel it, then hand it over. The reactions to others spending would be very different too.

MacBfg42 · 04/04/2025 21:13

Just finding somewhere to vent my frustration! Hugo is irritating me! He can’t judge others for taking money when he has openly spoken about how privileged he is and thinks 4k is “minuscule man”.

Hugo is horrible. Ok I get he could do a super yacht anytime 🙄but the other guy(forget his name)that walked away, probably would never get that chance again.

TessTickle0 · 07/04/2025 11:59

Only watched half of the episode where they phoned family etc.
My fave is tomaz
Although I couldn't remember his name so had to Google and that tells me this is his eight reality show..

I could do it too but not if I was having to trek for hours a day tbh

Anyone noticed: the ones that took temptations look so much healthier than those that didn't! Proof that health is more important than money.😂

Onthelinetoday · 07/04/2025 20:35

Just wondering if “leader” Nathaniel has ever read animal farm.

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which”

Littleguggi · 07/04/2025 21:36

Can't understand a word Thom says, is he drunk!

Of all the pairs, I guess it was bound to be Nathaniel and David who took the £20 000. Hymn books my arse!

Littleguggi · 07/04/2025 21:57

How have they worked out the final figures?

Littleguggi · 07/04/2025 21:57

How have they worked out the final figures?

I think they all got 14k when what money remained was split. Then money from the ATM, and bag of cash were added.

So the first 4, which included Hugo got 14k, then it increased depending on what was taken from the ATM.

And Nathaniel and David got the most due to the bag of 20k.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 07/04/2025 22:01

I'm not entirely sure because I missed the first couple of episodes but I assume it's roughly £14 000 from the basic pot plus up to £4000 from the ATM plus £10 000 for Nathaniel and David.

Onthelinetoday · 07/04/2025 22:02

The vicar David got the most at £28k. Can’t imagine it will do his career much good in the long run, he came across as immature and dishonest

Littleguggi · 07/04/2025 22:03

Thanks that makes sense! Goes to show you're better off taking a couple of temptations to get the experiences and to make the 18 days more bearable! They clearly didn't gel as a group, can't imagine many of them will remain in touch. I missed a few episodes part way through as got bored!

OP posts:
Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 07/04/2025 22:04

Yes he seemed really unpleasant in the final episode, all his holy sayings were just bullshit to justify his greed.

I think he's pathetic and definitely will not do him good in the long run. Can you imagine him standing up in front of his flock this Sunday!

maybejustmaybe · 07/04/2025 22:05

Nathaniel and the vicar stole that money. That is all.

Isthisit22 · 07/04/2025 22:06

I’m not religious but I found David’s quoting of the Bible to justify his greed and stealing really distasteful.

They absolutely did, no surprise there though .

I loathed Sam, she was god awful. What a miserable hypocritical cow.

Loved Hugo, David, Martha and Trish.. Imani really came good at the end

I just want to be in his congregation on Sunday......

Spending money on experiences was one thing, the taking of the cash from everyone else was really unkind.

corlan · 07/04/2025 22:12

David seemed to be totally lacking in any of the qualities you might expect of a vicar. Not the sort of person you'd turn to for spiritual guidance!
