When men are found to have been sleeping with an ex just days before entering the show, it is considered a major deal breaker...

Why? I dont think Lauren's ex was ever a partner - sounds like it was just someone she was casual fwb with. I don't see why it's a problem.

Obviously if someone is in an actual relationship when they join the cast, that's an issue. But it seems like that's not what it was and she was single.

She ought to dump him though - he's horrible. Surely they won't make it to the altar.

I've never known that? I've only known it to be a problem when the person has been in an actual relationship and broke it off to be on the show (or in one case I seem to recall didn’t break it off but tried to keep it on the downlow...)

I don't see the problem with single people having sex before going on the show. Why would anyone care?

The biggest dramas this season are

1. Did Daniel follow Taylor on Instagram ?

2. How long before coming on the show did Lauren have sex?

In previous seasons they wouldn't even have got airtime.

It may well be an actual fwb who she hasn't had sex with for a while.

But it's a mate of her fiancés mates. Living in ssme apartment block they live now. Clearly not ended well or at all. It may well be she is lying and it's more someone she dated and didn't end it cleanly. They were just a casual fwb is what they everyone in this situation says!

(And wasn't it actually 2 guys she "dated" that are in his social circle -that's got to be a bit icky for him)

Why is it "icky"? Unless you expect your partner to be a virgin? It sounds like it's the kind of social circle where everyone knows everyone so it can't be helped and unless it's your best friend or a relative, I don’t see the problem. I don't see the problem with single adults being sexually active.

It could be she's lying and was actually in a relationship with the guy. But presumably there would be some evidence of that. At the moment it just looks like shaming a woman for having a sex life, but I expect the truth will come out.

I'd find it icky if I knew the guy I got engaged to was very recently booking up with a mutual friend plus had in the past with another.

It's just not ideal, past relationships five of course. Just not ones in my social circle. Who may well discuss his ability in bed /snoring/stuff he did with my friends!

I think perhaps the person she hooked up with has a reputation in his social circle which they all know - if anything I can see that being an issue more because of him and his previous actions tainting how they see her. It doesn't sound like they like him very much.

I do feel for her because it was clearly just a hook up for Lauren and not the same at all as the men who have been on after/while having full blown relationships or promising women on the outside they'd be back after the show etc etc.

I guess I still don't really get the issue. No one wants to think about their partner's exes, but surely you have to accept your partner has a past? Your fiance has hooked up with a guy your mate knows and who you sometimes see at the gym? Who cares?

Well obviously David cares. Because it's a good way to get out of the wedding while making it seem like it's all Lauren's fault.

Yeah - he previously said he is always looking for flaws, so this is his old behaviour coming back. His self image is very tied into appearances with his friends.

From comments on TikTok it seems wild that there weren't any friends/exes in the cohort. So many people have worked/studied with one of the cast, dated another and are related to a third.

Agree with the small circle. Also found it weird how all their fathers seemed to have the same names. My dad is called Willlie , oh mine too 🤣🤣 etc.. I was looking forward to a sibling reveal in the pods.

Oh i don't think she has done anything wrong.

But I also don't think him finding it an issue is wrong either. So many people in the world to fall in love with, I'd prefer to marry one who hadn't already got with 2 friends of friends in the recent past.

One who looked cat deely's mum was a tough one to crack. V unrealistic views of the modern world

'We don't have divorce in this family' .. like it just cannot happen. I cannot believe her parents met at 14 and 15. At best they must understand that what they have is extremely rare and not the norm. At worst it hints at marriage that was never going to be ended no matter what they do to each other.

Also (I know it's edited but) her biggest/ first issue seemed to be that she wasn't involved in the engagement. Would she rather her daughter was with someone far less suitable but in a way that allowed her to be more involved?!! Cat Deely's partner had the patience of a saint with that whole meeting. Getting his parents there was a great shout.

Looks like there could be a bit of a bumpy road ahead for 'faith not religion' and blonde hair (Sarah?)

I've only got up to the bit where they've moved in together and starting to meet friends and family. Thoughts so far..

Why were the pods so long (not complaining) and the holiday so short- guessing there wasn't much to show/ much drama

I'm so surprised Devin and his fiancee had never covered politics. How many men in the USA are totally ignorant of politics and have no awareness of how much legislation in recent years is an assault on women's rights? Talk about privilege.
