I've just started watching it and am undecided whether to continue, is it worth sticking with?

Absolutely. It’s one of the best shows I’ve watched.

Bimblesalong · 31/01/2025 09:14

Started it last night and watched ep 1. I’ll be watching more. Some fascinating characters.

Fiah · 31/01/2025 09:15

Yes I started it last night too, fell asleep towards the end of ep1 so trying again today 😂

Yes, it’s excellent - quite violent though. If you liked Sons of Anarchy, it’s violent in a somewhat different way but you should be fine.

Whoarethoseguys · 31/01/2025 09:18

I loved the first few series but I lost interest when there was a long wait for the next part. I much preferred the early series anyway I think it lost a bit as it went on

Fiah · 31/01/2025 09:20

Kevin Costner hasn't aged a day has he, still as handsome as he ever has been, maybe even a bit better with age.

Ha i thought he was barely recognisable actually! He's very good in it, it just took me a few moments to twig who he was.

VanCleefArpels · 31/01/2025 10:00

Totally worth seeing through to the end, fabulous telly (but high body count!). Then worth watching the prequels.

Bimblesalong · 31/01/2025 10:00

Wiki says there are a couple of series showing earlier days - the one where the family travel out to establish the ranch sounds good.

tennissquare · 31/01/2025 10:51

Episode 1 of the first series is long and confusing, you can skip to next episode and work out what has happened.

Shadesofscarlett · 31/01/2025 13:44

1883 and 1923 - earlier series. Loved them all.

Rowen32 · 31/01/2025 14:16

Series 3 and 4 are horrendously bad, it redeemed itself in season 5.
A lot online about why, Taylor Sheridan starred writing lots of spin off shows, being in it himself aswell as the ranch in Texas, the writing went totally downhill.

AlannaOfTrebond · 31/01/2025 14:38

I love it, including the spin offs.

The first episode was pretty confusing and I nearly gave up, but so glad I didn't.

1883 and 1923 which tell the stories of earlier generations of the Dutton family were also brilliant. I think I cried for the entire last episode of 1883!

RedRiverShore5 · 31/01/2025 14:44

Definitely stick with it, I went back and rewatched episode one after I had finished the series as it is heavy going for a first episode

unsync · 31/01/2025 15:21

Cowboys and Kevin Costner, what's not to like? I liked the prequel too with Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. The other prequel showing the wagon trail was good, but sad.

JustFeedMeCake · 31/01/2025 15:30

I loved it. The spin offs too. I love Beth 🥰

CoastalCalm · 31/01/2025 15:39

Another Beth fan here , loved it all including the spin offs / prequels

Just watched first season of Landman which is also excellent - same producer

Hertsmum78 · 31/01/2025 15:40

I love it.

And 1883 is just outstanding. Was slightly less convinced by 1923.

1883 and 1923 - earlier series. Loved them all.

Me too, I hear there are more episodes of 1923 to come. Can't wait.
I blubbed like a baby at 1883.
Yellowstone is definitely worth watching all seasons. I watch the final season while abroad it's a great ending.
There's supposed to be a series about the 6666 ranch next.

Manchesterbythesea · 31/01/2025 16:07

We are almost finished season 5. It’s hands down the best series I’ve ever watched. I don’t know what I’m going to do when it’s over. 😢

EarthyMamma · 31/01/2025 16:18

All of December was taken up by watching Yellowstone in this house.
I was very reluctant as neither Kevin Costner or cowboys appealed but I had to eat my words.
It's really, really good.
Beth is fabulous.

Then we watched 1883 and were blown away by the story of the Duttons travelling across the States to found the dynasty.
It is so beautiful and so achingly sad.
I often think about it.

namechangeGOT · 31/01/2025 16:32

Yellowstone is fabulous! I want Beth Dutton to be my friend.

1883, 1923 and Landman are also very very good!

cortex10 · 31/01/2025 17:01

Also a fan. Currently watching 1923 again in anticipation of series 2 in February.

Fiah · 31/01/2025 17:15

Are netflix going to buy the spin offs or where can I watch them when I'm done?

OP posts:
Daisy03 · 31/01/2025 17:20

They're all on paramount+, I managed to get a years subscription cheap during Black Friday. There's a lot on there, all the other series by Taylor Sheridan
