I've just started watching it and am undecided whether to continue, is it worth sticking with?

Just watched this over Christmas on paramount+. It's really fantastic, I wasn't a fan of Kelly Reilly before, but she is so amazing in this as Beth . We watched the two spin off prequels and enjoyed them too

DH started watching it without me as he thought it wouldn’t be my thing, as did I. However after a few episodes of me watching it over the top of the book I was reading he asked if I wanted to just go back to the beginning. A great series and I didn’t know about the prequels either so I’ll be looking those up.

Loved it, the scenery, the family dynamic, the Rip & Beth story. And Beth awesome.

Yellowstone Is So Much More Than Cowboy Hats and Guns. Here’s Why You Should Watch review of Yellowstone
Oh yes, I forgot to mention the music!
It's excellent indeed.

I have binged season 1 today, it's so good! Rip is probably my favourite character, there's a lot going on there. Kayce has driven me mad. Beth and her fringe are just wonderful!

Rip is my favourite too! That man can do no wrong! The perfect husband! I love the relationship with Beth. They have so much chemistry. The music is brilliant too. So much Zach Bryan!! 🥰

I really liked it but then someone told me the ending of the last series and now I can’t be arsed to watch it 🙄

RedRiverShore5 · 01/02/2025 06:32

There seems to be only 4 series on there, Netflix have form for this. Half a show, at least it's just the end that's missing, sometimes it's a middle series or the start like it was with Manifest.

Manchesterbythesea · 01/02/2025 09:48

All the seasons are on paramount and I think here in Ireland they are on RTE too.

NoCarbsForMe · 01/02/2025 10:03

Yes watched it all but really disliked most of the characters!
It's very violent but quite compelling.

WinchSparkle80 · 01/02/2025 10:14

Also started it last night- loved it, IMDB has a review with the headline as Cowboy Version of Sopranos - sounds good to me!

amazon prime have form for this crap too, just happily watching A Place to Call Home which has 6 seasons but S3 is missing due to expired rights, which has ruined it, all the rest are there !

I love A Place to Call Home, it looks like season 3 might be on Acorn so you could use the free week that I think you get to watch it. I had to watch a couple of series on different platforms because of stuff like this.

EasternStandard · 01/02/2025 16:57

I couldn't stick with it which was a shame as the scenic part was incredible

I didn't take to the characters enough

I’ve just started watching.

Unpleasant violence and a lack of redeeming characters but overall it seems to be an entertaining enough pile of misogynistic horse poo.

The scenery is attractive too!

Some interesting insights in to neoliberalism.

The actress who plays Beth must have had a blast!

And very much agree that everyone needs a Rip in their lives 😁

Edited to say that there were a couple of episodes early on that seemed to be produced by someone else where the pace was off and in which there were a ridiculous number of random unconnected incidents which bore no relation to plot or character! But then it seemed to gather itself together again. Very strange.

Yellowstone is fabulous! I want Beth Dutton to be my friend.

1883, 1923 and Landman are also very very good!

Came here to say all the same 😅 Also cried through the last episode of 1883 because I had already watched the entire series once and knew what was coming 😭😅

Territory, also on Netflix, is okay for those waiting for the next episodes of 1923 to come out, like Yellowstone but a Temu version 😅

olympicsrock · 04/02/2025 19:23

Stick with it . I wasn’t sure watching episode 1 but by the episode 3 I was sold .It’s great !

Fluffyhoglets · 05/02/2025 01:47

I've been watching this for week or so now and got to season 3. Am loving it! It's hooked dh in as well.
I'm watching on Netflix so might have to subscribe to paramount plus for a while if they don't have the last series or the spin offs on there.

SisterMaryLuke · 05/02/2025 17:17

I watched Ep.1 yesterday and it seemed to go on forever and I lost the plot (I may have had a little nap). Beautiful scenery though. I am encouraged to continue with it from the comments.
